Could you folks enlighten me as to what kind of sire BJ Buck is? Does he throw tree dogs? His background? Thanks, Loyd. |

Loyd, the first cross that I made on the (late) Jessica's Yellow Rose was with the (late)BJ Buck & I can say that the offspring were show-nuff tree dogs , Jason Bickford's Dixie dog was from that cross & the only male dog in that litter was TN Mnt Brindle Joe , I hunted quite abit with Joe & he was a tree dog day or night , he is in some part of KY now , Ol BJ Buck surly did leave his mark in the KSBA. GOD BLESS, Roger B. |

Lloyd, My older brother David had BJ Buck as a young dog. He started early and was game crazy. He was semi-open on a coon track and silent on a squirrel until the tree. He had a real good winding nose and alot of grit with no reverse gears. He was a pretty black brindle dog with a blocky head and build that could hunt all night. I think Jason Bickford can tell you how his offspring acted. |

I think BJ Buck was one of the most overlooked Kemmer dogs in the breed. He was a dominate reproducer & throwed some gamey shore-nuff tree dogs.... He was at stud right beside his daddy ( Gold Nugget Jr. ) for about all his life & that was a big reason he never got to show what he could produce. Most people look at a dog like Buck and say why breed to him when you can breed to what made him ( Jr.).... I have personally hunted with 12 dogs direct off BJ Buck & I would love to have any one of them here tonite....... |
