Loyd ol TC Target had a good mouth I saw him several times he would through his head back and bawl I raised 2 3/4 TC Target pups for Robert they had huge mouths never did hunt them someone correct me if I am wrong I would think it would have a medium to cold nose I have 2 pups out of TC Target 2 they are real friendly and get along good with other dogs and people they hunt hard but not wide one has treed a possum and treed tight on the tree with a chop I have only hunted these dogs a few times but they do seem to wind a lot and have a lot of natural ability I hope this helps you out. I got a 6 mo. old out of TC Target II and Blondie Target. Couple of weeks ago I turned a caged coon out in front of her after letting her work on him in the cage a little. This was the first coon she had ever seen. I let the coon get out of sight a good ways and then let her go. She tracked him opening all the way and luckily he didnt go all that far and went up a maple about 5 ft high. She located and sent him on up. She did all the young pup stuff after he got out sight but needless to say, right now I like her. Good natured with a ton of natural ability. |

The dog I just lost to a bad ole Boar Hog was outta TC Target II and Kemmers Lady Sport. He had a real nose treed alot of coon that other dogs couldnt smell and was loaded with grit. Sure am glad that i bred him to my double Nig bred female before it all ended. Head full of sense with a super handle on him. |

I have Kemmer's Mrs Target (Juice) here and hunt her on coon. She is about as cold nosed as it gets in a cur dog. Wide open on track and is a deep hunting dog. I really like her drive and she is gonna hunt hard every time out. In my opinion, she hunts a little more for herself than me. I really like the Target x Yellow Bob cross I did a little while back. The male I kept off of it has track, winding, bawl locate, hard treeing, and BRAINS! From my experience with the Target blood here.. ( TC x Blondy Target) and that crossed on Strut. They should have track and be cold nosed. |

Most I've seen are wide open on track. Cold nosed but not fiddle around and never move the track kind of cold nosed but a run full speed working the track squelling when a hint of scent is detected. The TC Target dogs I've owned were for young men with good legs. It takes a lot to keep up with these dogs. My Ruger would road hunt a 12 mile loop at 20 mph before you could walk him and keep up. |
