Does anybody have any info on the new light systems called predator lights. It is an LED head and helmet but all the battery and mechanism is in the head their is no battery on the belt and no cords. I was just wondering if they are good enough to take the place of the belt lights or is it more of a wide beam walking type light.

Depends on the type of timber you hunt in. Here in N.E. Arkansas with our tall timber, and in the winter with the leaves off, they're not really all that grand. They're hard to pinpoint the beam. If you're a young man with good eyes it'll probably be different. I won't personally change to them, but I do like the convienence of no durn cord to catch on everything.

Iv'e only seen these new lites advertised on the web. Never been around them. But I would like to bring up a point about them that no one has mentioned. Looks like the new lite could easily get lost or misplaced. With no cord or battery attached to it it could happen. That could be kinda costly. I'm speaking from some experience though. A year ago I left my Garmin handheld on the bumper of my truck & drove off & lost it along the highway somewhere. (Iv'e done this with my gloves too) If I ever got one of those new lights I'd have to tie a string to it & tie other end to my little finger! LOL :D

This is the new led head I got from Bob at Timbercreek dog supply in Oxnord Ms. I have it on a 26 volt Pro belt light. It has a low and a high switch on the head and you use the selecter switch on the battery. It shines a tight spot on low or high and it is a white colored light. There has never been a tree that it won't shine to the top of with ease. This is the brightest lite I have ever owned and it will burn for hours on high and at the end of the hunt that night it will be as brightas when you started........Big Ronnie

I agree that the light will reach to the tops of the trees. My problem is pin pointing a certain area of the tree. I can't focus on a particular area with the LED lights. Probably just my eyes.

Loyd the Pro led head I had last year on my 22 volt Pro light covered a wide area and lite up the whole tree but this led head is totally different. It lights up a small area and and throws a tight spot that is super bright and I'm like you I can't see real good no more but this light has a real white colored light to it and it don't light up a big area . This makes it a lot better for us that don't see real good. The knob on the head doesn't make it go from a wide area to a spot or focus it like the reg. heads do instead it is the same size area lite up but the knob on the head only goes from dim to brighter to brightest with the same size spot all the way from start to finish............Big Ronnie

Loyd the whiter light is what makes it easier to see something way up or it makes it look brighter anyway. My other Pro led head had a blue tint to it and it shined a wide area. I like this one a lot better.........Big Ronnie
