I tryed to measure the snow here in several places. I came up with 10 to 12 inches of snow on the ground right now. We've had enough of this nasty white stuff If it ever thaws off it will be a muddy mess

We were supposed to have gotten about 8 in. from that last system Treedog but it never came far enough north. They had 1/2 in. 35 mi. south of us then snowfall tracked east over into northern Ill. & we never got a flake here. I guess a guy is lucky enough to miss the bullet once during the season. Suppose to be quiet here this week. I sure hope so cause I had to send my skidsteer loader that I plow most of my snow with into the implement to get a hydrolic vavle fixed that controls the bucket. $$$$$$$$$ Take it from me Theres no profit in pushing your own snow or mowing your own lawn!

I usually use a little NAA ford tractor with a rear 3 point blade to move the snow around. I had a fellow with a end loader move it this time. It was a little too much for the little ford. And you are right it seems that something is always needing fixed!!

I'm just thankful that we aren't getting any this week, and I saw a couple of dozen robins in my backyard this evening, that usually means that spring is about to bust loose. I'm ready. |

I know this white stuff really kicks you fellows in the south, somethings really messed up in the weather pattern this year. We usually get over a 100 inches a year, a couple years ago just 10 miles east of us they got 96 in. in one three day storm but this year I don't think we've had much over 3 ft. total. I'll put up with the snow in the winter to trade off that high heat & humity in the summer, over weight as I am that's a killer for me. |

Its cost us alot more this year.I got a neighbor thats run out of fire wood and has started buying it at $70.00 a rick.My mother's going thru $200.00 worth of propane every three weeks.Ive got a new metal roof and my electric is up $40.00 over this time last year, even with my new super insulated roof that was put on this past summer. All this Ice and snow and cold is really costing us more. Some of the old folks that use fire wood for heat have real old houses that are not insulated at all. |
