I was just wondering if anybody had one and if so how do you like it? Nightlight has them for $69.99, but I found them at Walmart online for $45.00. Sounds really simple to use also.
Thanks

I know two people that have them and they like them. They say they are really easy to use. I'm not sure about waypoints, it is a simple design.

Thanks Crieg, I have a Garmin GPS, but this seems so simple, handy and cheap that I think I will get one. I am the worlds worst at finding the Truck after a tree. I guess I forget where I am at sometime? LoL!

I was kind of skeptical because I have had 2 Garmin etrexs and they didn`t work so good. I bought the backtrac off of ebay for $50 and I absolutely love it! It is easy to use. It has 3 symbols to use as waypoints. One is a symbol of a truck and I can mark my position when I start my hunt, then I turn it off. At anytime during the hunt I can tell how far and what direction the truck is by turning it on and it usually doesn`t take long to lock on the satlelites. It is small and great for hunting new woods. I highly recommend it.

We use the Garmin for tracking, tri-state for shocking, regular collar with name and phone for identication and we have the Quick track too for super long distance tracking. If we get 1 more pieace of equipment for the dogs I will have to switch over to the wennie dog for more room. :'( ..........Big Ronnie

Tree Reb- I have a Garmin Etrex also & it works fine here. Is that Backtrack smaller in size than the Etrex? And do you have to be walking for the compass to work on the Backtrack like you have to on the Etrex?

Ronnie- Good luck with the weenie dogs! :P :P :P LOL

Wendel,
I too have a Garmin Etrex ledgend. The only problem is that you have to carry it on your side. The Bushnell Backtrack is quite a bit smaller, maybe the size of a LARGE pocket watch and it only gives you directions back to the truck or what ever you mark as a way point. I gave $199.00 for the Etrex and the Bushnell costs $45.00. Not sure about the compass on the Backtrack?

I would sure like to see Big Ronnie hunting Weener dogs! I think that would sure be funny!! LOL!!!!!

The backtrack is light and about the size of a deluxe moon pie although not as thick. I tote mine in my back pocket. I keep it off because it runs on 1 or 2 AAA batteries and I don`t think they last a long time if kept on. But I used mine alot this winter and it still shows full battery. It does have an electronic compass but I use a regular compass for that. I just have a phobia about not knowing where and how far my truck is and it works great for that. I`m a 51 year old WIMP!

Mr. Ronnie, all you have to do, is call Robert Kemmer, tell him your kemmer's neck is not long enough to put all you equipment on. ^o) Robert will start right then, on a cross x ??????????, that will have a long neck, and still be 100% kemmer. SLOW DAWG
