If for some reason you had to pick one stud dog that is alive now to start over or perserve the kemmer line with which one would it be?

I would start with whats in my Kennel and most Kemmer folks would probably say about the same.

There is a lot of 'hoop-la' with any breed of dog and a lot of it is a popularity contest, who you know and such. HOWEVER, the great thing about these Kemmers, and don't tell anyone, is that most all of them are bred well enough to produce and continue these dogs for many generations to come.

"THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD" as Mr Clomer would say and that statement is backed by many generations of outstanding breeding practices by many Kemmer Fanciers.

I have tried about every line within the kemmers, and had about the same results. Game crazy tree dogs! Different lines may produce different traits, but the out come is all the same. ;)

Brad, sorry I didn't see my email from you till today, others have already answered you question on the best dog, to breed to. I cannot answer questions like alot of the guys on here, but you are in the area of some of the best, KEMMER breeding in the U.S.A. BJ Buck, Herring's Buckshot, Kemmers Gold Nugget, and the list goes on, with males and females of Great dogs, I should have added Ronnie's Old Troble, but I cannot put all of them on here. This is the gene pool, we breed out of, it can't be improved, and cannot be dupicated............ SLOW DAWG

That would be a hard one to answer, for me, like Charlie said, it would most likely be my Wally male, though I can think of several others that I wouldn't hesitate to start with.

Paul hit it on the head I think, in mentioning traits. Alot of dogs throw different traits, hot nose, cold nose, track oriented, winding oriented, close hunting, deep hunting, bawl mouth, chop mouth, naturally laid back personality, wound up personality, etc,,,

Kinda depends on what direction a man wants to go, and I really think the female has a whole lot to do with how the pups finish out also, at least as much, and quite possibly more than the male.
I hunt the "PURE" KEMMER MEAT DOGS.
No byproducts!!!!
