Made a little quick hunt last night trying to get in some huntin and back home before the storm came in. Didn't quite make it. Did make two trees but the wind was blowing so hard in one i just kept getting a peek of eyes when the tree top would blow just right and the other one the wind was blowing so hard i kept losing where Rusty was treed. The first one was right at the feeders and i don't know if there was just too much scent but Rusty just didn't get fired up about it. He stood up on the tree like he thought it was there but he kept going back to the feeder and all around. the second one i turned out right on top of and before he could get bery far at all i was already having trouble hearing him. After the first flash of lightning i decided that it was proly good enough for one night and packed it back in. If the wind would have just died a little it would have been good cause ole ringtail was sure movin in before that front moved across. |

Sounds like a good hunt in spite of the weather, where Connie and I hunted last night, the coon were pretty much staying in the dens waiting for some cooler weather. It was very humid with the bad weather coming in. |

Clayton, bad weather is a good time to go hunting. As my hunt'en buddy, Jimmino, would say--"ain't as many folks out stirring"!! That wind is tough on hearing your dog! At least you went!! |
