We have soil here that has been tobacco farmed for several years and thee P and K seem to run high....until you plant corn on it a few years. We are mostly red land on upland fields, but have some gray upland too.....the bottom land is nice though.

I plant 27-28000 seed per acre. I have an AC 333 no-till planter. We use appx 250lbs of 10-20-20 In the row and spray 40 gallons of liquid Nitrogen per acre. Gets us appx 152lbs of N per acre and 50lbs of P and K. I plan to go up on P and K next year if the soil sample shows we need it.

what are you doing?

We do 32,000 seed per acre in good bottom land. slough on one side and creek on the other. We put about two hundred pound to the acre of a mix from the coop bout like you put down and the we come back and side dress with 400 pound per acre of N. plus we put out chicken litter early in the spring. We usually do about 150 bu per acre what do yall usually harvest

we can pull appx 110-125 per acre with rain on red upland and can pull 160-175 in bottoms. Gotta have mother nature on your side either way..LOL I figure appx 1 lb of N per bushel...need some more lime on the red land and we might get more yield. Put a ton per acre this year, but should have doubled that....low PH. I hope you have a good year!

Yeah if we can keep the coons and crows out of it we should do pretty good. I'd say last year they proly ate at least a wagon load of corn and that was after we killed proly 20 coons.
