I left on a little trip to Flordia that turned into a 5 week long trip and the only reason I'm home now is I come in for a couple days to put on some new tires and put a new clutch in and then right back. I guess I'm sort of like visting here at home. Me and a few of my buddies from here have been hauling crane matts that they use on the pipeline in the sand and in the marshs. We have been picking them up all over Ga. like Newington, Washington, Hazelhurst and Homerville and takeing them south all over Flordia like to Okeechobee, Lake Placid, Fort Lomesome, Monticello, Madison, Wildwood and Tallahassee. Now here is what I have learned about these places and all in between them, (they are infested with hogs and turkeys). I have saw more hogs and also turkeys than I have ever saw in my life. Creig Brown I see why you are into hog hunting if I lived down there I think I would have to forget the squirrels and coons too although I saw a lot of coons there too. I have been off of the board for five weeks and now I feel like a new member...............Big Ronnie |

Good to hear from you again Ronnie. I was afraid you went too far in one of those Florida swamps and got lost or something. Glad to see you back. Question for you. Are the Floridians worried about that oil spill coming their way? Heard it might be possible if oil reaches certain ocean current. Keeping my fingers crossed that it don't. Glad Calvin ain't workin on those oil rigs any more. You drive careful. Have a good weekend. |

Wendel they all seem to be watching it close but so is everyone else down there. I cross the bay bridge at Pensacola pretty often and at first you could see the waters color sort of turning a orange color and then soon after you could see the black oil blots comeing in. I crossed it yesterday just at dark and it looked like I could see more and more of them. This oil will cost all of us to no end before it is over. Diesel in Ga. is $2.75 per gall. but in Fla. it is $3.o9 to $3.29 per gall. Thats a big difference in a gall. of diesel espeacially when you don't get but 5.5 miles per gall. and burn $400 to $5oo a day of it. I heard a truck driver yesterday talking about he could remember when diesel sold for $1.25 a gall, I didn't say a word because I didn't want to let them know just how old I was(I remember when it sold for .16 cents per gall.)...............Big Ronnie |

Glad to see you are back on the 'puter. Florida has a lot of wild hogs, just not where I live. They are beginning to take hold around here too. South Florida has had them since the Spaniards left them I guess. Diesel has been high in Florida way before the Horizon incident. I buy 95% of my fuel in Alabama. When you passed the Caryville exit ( about 100 miles east of Pensacola) you were only 20 miles from the house. Take care and tell us about the blue dog in the old pictures Laree posted. |

Creig I guess you are talking about Snookie. I don't remember what Snookie was out of but I do know she was a fine little dog. She didn't have no tail at all and had a little hip displacement because of it, atleast thats what we always thought it was. She made a good coon dog. Snookie wasn't blue bue she wasn't no other normal color either. She was a choclate color in one way and she was a brown color in another way with no blue but so close to it. I think we got Snookie from David Phipps in Grandview Tn.........Big Ronnie |
