Took the dogs out yesterday afternoon, right before dark, for what I hoped would be a quick hunt. I wanted to get my older dogs out for the exercise and wanted to get Bonnie & Clyde out for their first hunt. I knew they'd bark at a pig in training but haven't been in on a bay/catch in the real world.
Well, it was a quick hunt, that's for sure. We left the truck with the dogs on the atvs and went about 200 yds before I let the dogs go. Ahead of us, about 150 yards, was a little mud hole the hogs like to wallow in and I had hoped a hog or two would either be nearby or maybe had visited it recently. I turned Wiley, EllieMae, Jack, Bonnie, and Clyde loose and they all charged down the road at full speed. When they got to the mud hole, which is just off the road, the 3 older dogs opened up bayed. We went got down there and I turned on the video sunglasses and headed in to make sure they had a hog and not a javelina. I was pretty sure all of the dogs were involved at this point but it was hard to tell due to the grass and brush. It wasn't until after I watched the video that I could tell that the pups were in the action. At about the 40 second mark, you can hear Clyde with his young male bark. Also, once I have the hog by the legs, Clyde can be seen coming in to nip and bite the hog and again, you'll hear his goofy bark. Bonnie was in there as well, but I can't reall discern her bark just yet.

The hog had some good teeth on him and he did some damage to Wiley and Lady, so we loaded em up and went back to the truck to tend to the dogs. From the time we left the truck to the time the knife went in the hog was about 3 minutes or less. So I guess that was the quick hunt I was hoping for?

Dee thank you for posting the video. Looks and sounds like Bonnie and Clyde are liking it also. I heard Wiley when he got cut. I am glad he is ok along with Lady. Clyde is going to have Sport II's deep voice for sure. Keep up the good work.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Laree KemmerSmiley ILIKEIT

Mr. Day, I know the feeling. I've had that happen to us twice since the first of June. Hang in there and keep the camera handy, you'll be back on them tomorrow. ;)

Thanks to my co-worker and his high tech software I was able to extract some frame shots from the video.

You can see that the pups were in on the action. He is working on a couple more, will post them as he gets them ready. Not too bad for 11 month old pups on their first hunt.

Dee I'm glad to see Bonnie and Clyde is working out for you. This shows that the Sport II dogs will work on just about any game they are exposed to and this is a good thing............Big Ronnie

These 2 dogs are out of Sport II X Sally. Sally is out of Sport II X Kemmers Granny. We bred Sally and her littermate sister this last time back to Sport II but Sally didn't catch. The next time they come in they will be bred to Ronnie's 7/8 Gold Nugget. This should produce the same dog but only with more nose from the Gold Nugget blood. First you get them to working than you try to better them with a few changes. Gold Nugget and Ole Blondie blood has never done nothing but help anything it has ever been put into. ..............Big Ronnie
