Hank and his dam are now in cajun country. We took the 2 grandsons to my brotherinlaws pasture to show the the horses. Them 2 boys havent been around horses much but thats fixing to change. The 700 mile trip was hard on Lil Hank he has been sluggish since we got back but hopefully he will feel better soon.

Calvin I am sure Hank will be fine with a little settle down time. He is going to be a looker for sure. The mare is looking good and I am sure she will enjoy the winter here much more. Keep us updated on Hank.>>>>>>>>>>>Laree

Hank may be suffering from "shipping fever". Watch for a runny nose. Some antibiotics may be needed.

Its rough on grown horses to travel 700 miles with no stop-overs and exercise.A colt is even more so. Watch for runny nose.main thing i worry about is colic. changing climate---feed---- type of grass ect can bring it on and will kill if not caught and treated.being sluggish i think is from a little shippin fever and new surroundings AND gettin his land legs back. He is a good lookin colt. he will bounce back quick.

Give about 30 days and maybe all you will need is a soft, sandy spot to ride on. Gene.

Gene I think you're right. Today was 8 days and I can now see a change and looks like the colt is starting to feel better. That trip really took a toll on lil Hank.
