Preston- Saw your pictures of your pups treeing in picture section. When I saw some of the background in the photos it reminded me of a conversation we had several yrs. ago over the phone about your hunting area. Did you tell me that the famous movie "WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS" was filmed in somewhere close to you? Or did I just imagine this? They spoke of the town of Talaqua in the movie. If this movie was filmed near you what year did they do the filming? Did they use any of the local residents for some of the actors?

My wife and I eat breakfast every Sunday morning in the store that was in the original Where the Red Fern Grows movie. In the movie, the store was ran by Billy's grandpa. This restaurant, Jincy's Kitchen, is open on the weekends only and is home cookin'. They still have a lot of the old store's relics. I live 30 minutes from the store. The movie was mostly filmed on the Illinois River which is also 30 minutes. Matter of fact I went huntin last night on the Illinois River. I dont know the year it was made there was several local people that had their mules and hounds in it .

Preston reading this reminds me of the movie Twister. I hauled wheat out of Wakita Okla. several years back and I didn't know where the movie was flimed at untill I got to the little town of Wakita. They had a little musem in the middle of town and in Wakita it's not very hard to find the middle of town because you can see from one end of it to the other end of town. I went through the musem and the machine that was in the movie that they called Doprthy was there. They had brick that was in the movie and were for sale for $10 each. When you are in Wakita Okla. you can see in all directions for many miles across the wheat fields and every day I would imagine being there and seeing the tornado comeing across the wheat fields towards town. The lady that worked in the elevater that I hauled out of said almost everyone in town had some little part in the movie. Didn't mean to get into ya'lls post but this brought back old memberies.........Big Ronnie
