Glad to hear you guys made it back ok. I'll bet this is a road trip you won't forget. I don't know anything about trucking only that everything is way too high priced but I just knew that that storeage outfit was going to charge an outrageous fee for holding that truck. Thanks for coming to your fellow mans aid. Don't know who else could have pulled off such a venture as you guys did. Your a good egg Ronnie Taylor. God bless you. |

Wendel when I left home I filled up with diesel and it was $3.33 and I noticed last night when we came through town it had gone down to $3.29. I bought it in Va. for $3.13 and .20 a gall. makes a big difference when you get 5.5 miles per gall. The man at the wrecker yard was a real nice guy but crooked as a snake. There was a good bit of work involved in getting Lawarences truck ready to haul back. We had to take off the stacks and this truck was a condo freightliner with all the wind scoops on top and they all had to be taken off to get the hight down. We still had to let the air out of the tires to get it down to 13.8 high. I don't know why some people do this but alot will but when they get their truck paid for to where the bank no longer requires for them to carry collision ins. on it plus it gets some age on it and the value is down they will drop the collision. This is what they had done. It is not real expensive and is the price is based on the value of the vehicel. I carry it on my stuff because I have found out from true living experiance that bad things never happen to trucks untill you are broke. If they had of had 12 or 15 thousand on it they would have been much better off. The really nice guy at the wrecker yard charged her $6400 to hook on to it and tow it 2 miles. Three years ago Little Ronnie turned one of mine over with a load of corn on and there was 1400 bushels of corn in the road with 300 gall. of diesel spilled on top of it and the truck and trauiler was on the side with a 75 ft. long gaurd rail stuck thrugh the winshield of the truck and went through and through till it came out the rear of the (new grain trailer) with little Ronnie still inside with all this going on. Their was haz mat involved and a clean up charge on this wasn't but $2700 (big difference). Margaret had to pay the $6400 before we could load the truck..........Big Ronnie |

Ronnie, I believe in everyone making a living on their services but $6400 for a wrecker pull is legalized robbery. That man should be in a penitentiary some where....it doesn't matter where, just as long as he's there.....that's ridiculous.....taking advantage of a bad situation that someone else is in.....doesn't set well with me... |
