This is something we should be used to after 25 years but were not. We never like to see the river comeing up because you never know how much water we might get. Once the ole mighty Mississippi river gets to a certain point we have to hook up and move out. There is only 1 road in and out and the water goes over it at 35.5 ft. and we are getting 41 ft. without no more rain. Where our camp is can still hold another 5 or 6 ft. of water before it goes under but when it cross's the only road in or out you better be hooked up and headed out because the river don't give no 2nd. chances............Big Ronnie

This is my 2 river rat helpers with their I don't want to go look on their face

You can see the water is almost in the front yard.

Once the water breaks over the top of the bank it's all over then till it decides to go down and this might be in 2 weeks or 4 months. The miss. river is unperdictable

Mike we have moved out many times and just as we move everything out the next day we would get a new river stage saying that the water was going down so because of this we wait till the last day before we move. Momma and Daddy lived on the lake here for 20 something years and never moved out. They had their trailer ( a 14x80 house trailer) up in the air high enough that the water wouldn't never get it and they would ride it out. Niow they live just on the outside of the levie. When we lived down there Little Ronnie went to school in a boat for the first 4 miles each day the water was up...............Big Ronnie
