I dont know how far from your house you are wanting to keep them away. But when i had chickens i would keep a radio playing all night. That seem to work for me. |

I have a radio playing in my out building maybe needs to be louder. These will come right on in on the dogs and the dogs doing all they can to get to them. The neighbor ran a pack of over 20 he said out of his yard last week. Everone having lots of trouble with them around here seema like you get rid of one and five will take its place |

Rick, There was a biologist from Syrcuse Univ. speaking at the NY Houndsmen meeting two years ago that said it was about impossible for man to control coyote population. If there is a large number and feed gets scarce the female will have small litters, if there is plenty of feed they will have large litters. If the population get out of wack and over populate nature will kick in it's population control, rabies and/or mange. Sounds like your area is prime for a kill-off. As far as keeping them away I would try to keep anthing that might smell like food for them put away, that's why they are coming in close and that means house cat at the top of the list. |

A point that I didn't mention. This guy said you could kill off 90% of the coyotes this year and next year there would be just as many again if food sorce didn't change. |
