Yes the gas prices have certainly gone up. I left home 3 weeks ago and diesel fuel was $3.79 most everywhere. I was gone just over 3 weeks and got home today. Diesel fuel has jumped from $3.79 to $4.09 in this time. When you burn $500 to $600 of fuel each day this makes a big difference in your pocket book at the end of the week. We are hearing that by the end of summer diesel will be over $5.00. When I left here 3 weeks ago at night it would get down to freezing and you would have to run the heater all night to stay warm while you slept I was haveing to wear my coat. Now 3 weeks later I'm haveing to run the ac dureing the day and most of the night to stay cool. Today when I got back home I could see that all the farmers have gotten their corn planted and it is 4 to 6 inchs tall and they are beginning to plant some cotton. It's hard to believe how much difference 3 weeks time can make in farm country. Being up in the foot hills of the ozarks for a while was nice but the closer to home I got today the nicer things was looking. There aien't no place like home..............Big Ronnie |

Ronnie- Gas prices are from $3.69 to $3.74 last time I went through town. Probably higher by now though. Can't tell ya about desiel as I haven't bought any lately as I filled the barrel last fall. Field work has started for some of us but we are a ways off from plantin any corn yet. Weather has been very cooperative lately to allow us to get some ground work done but weatherman says we might get a little damp tomorow so we will have to wait & see. I did get some garden in several days ago & the lettuce is just peekin through. Glad to see you made it home safely. Have a good one. |

I know exactly how it feels to be gone three weeks as that is my schedule. It is amazing how much things can change over three weeks. When I left home everything looked like winter. When I came home, all the fields were green and the trees were all budded out. And it is very good to be back home. |
