Hi my names Nate Spence im a coyote hunter from Utah. I've never owned a kemmer cur, but have always been a fan of the breeds versitility. I've mostly hunted with terriers lately. Im looking for a striker breed dog out of proven parents, probably something out of Derril Frys lines. From what i've read so far it looks like im in the right place to learn about the kemmer lines. Thanks |

Not sure how you're hunting coyote but Ken Johnson had his Coal dog trained to be a decoy dog and was used in a number of western states with good results. These Kemmers are so intelligent they can be trained for different uses. A fellow in southern tier NY has a male less then a year old from my WI. Buck bred dog and Bluejeans that he keeps in the truck with him, when the pack has the cotote turned and running toward him he lets this young dog out and meets the coyote head on and bays it up. The Fry's have some good stock to use in the southwest for sure, My Buck dog is a littermate to Bill Fry's Gold Buckle dog, they are real cold nosed, if you could get something from Bill I would think it would work for you. |
