Here is a pic of Ronnie's folks front yard now and rising every day. That is Granddaddy's Flag Pole in the front yard. Look behind it and you can see the roof of thier double wide trailer and car port. :'( :( Laree

You can't see none of the house or shop now. It's completely under water and there is atleast another 3 or 4 feet comeing yet before it crest. I crossed the mississippi river bridge at Vicksburg this evening comeing home and the water is with in a couple feet from touching the bottom of the bridge now and with the other 3 or 4 feet that is yet to come it will be close to touching the bridge............Big Ronnie

It is ashame that this type of thing happens, but I guess God's plan is sometimes hard to understand. I am sure that it is hard on everyone and will keep all of y'all in my prayers. It must really stink to have to leave your home!!! Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon....I know it will take a while though. Keep your heads up and I know those in need will apprecaite everyone's helping hand.

Charles Momma Sue and Granddaddy are doing fine. The water use to be 50 ft below the bridge :'( what looks like water is really a big hunting club that runs along the river. They saying that it is going to crest tomorrow and sit there for a few days then start down. But it will still be awhile before anyone can go back home.
Ben glad to see you are doing good you to have been through alot in the past several weeks your self.>>>>>>>>>>>>Laree T

Under the water that you are looking at is a hunting club of several thousand acres and the whole thing is under trees and all. The highest I have ever saw it up on the trees is maybe half way up them but this time they are like Momma and daddys house (under the water)..............Big Ronnie

Yesterday was daddys 83rd. birthday and when I got home I went to see him. I have been thinking about him and momma being flooded all week. Where they live will still be flooded with 10 ft. of water or more for months after the river goes down because there is no way out for the water between the 2 levies. There is a flood gate at the north end that can be opened to let it out but it can't be opened untill the river gets down below the flood gate. This could be around august or so before this happens. I talked to them both yesterday about finding them somewhere away from the river to live so this wouldn't happen anymore to them. I'm afraid now that since they have cut the levie this time when it got high they will do it again the next time it gets up also. They told Laree to start looking for them a place around us or somewhere here that is for sale. I must have gave them something to think about because before dark momma called and said not to worry about no where for them. They had went to town and got a local news paper to check out the for sale places. They found a nice place just 3 miles down the road from where they are now for sale with a couple acres with it. Before dark yesterday they had went and looked at it and decided they wanted it. I think daddy is going to put the camper trl. over on the river so he can still hunt out the back door. Momma always said that daddys 270 weatherby was awful loud inside the house when he would shoot the deer out the back door eating in his corn pile. She might should be checking on her some ear plugs for this winter because I can already imagine how loud the 270 will be in a camper trl. It don't bother daddy none because he has to turn the tv up wide open to hear it now.............Big Ronnie

When it comes to the news on the TV, tornadoes have pushed the flooding off
the screen, but was just wondering if the flood waters throughout the south
have receded yet....or just where it stands now.

Went to Yucatan today to check on momma and daddys place. Still can't get to it to look inside. The water is off of it but the road is still 3 ft. deep on the road. For years when the water gets high we could always still go to daddys place anytime but we couldn't go no closer to the river or lake because not far past their house is the 2nd. levie and the water would always be up high on the river side of the levie. Well thats not the case rthis yr. The water is still going down on the river side of the levie but it's trapped inside the 2 levies where daddys place is. We drove around to the inner levie and went down it to the road that goes into the lake where me and Laree camp at on Yucatan. The water is still up in places but we still managed to drive my pickup in. I went to where the levie was cut and it really washed out a super long place in it. The river didn't break the levie but one of the land owners that owns land inside of it cut the levie for some unknown reason and it flooded the homes in between the two levies. None of them are very happy about this. Can't say much more about this now but will later. Here are some pictures from today................Big Ronnie

This is where the levie was cut. It wasn't cut nearly this big but after it was cut it washed it out so bad that I don't think they will ever repair it now. It would take hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix it now and it would be at the land owners expense.

We drove to the lake but it wasn't like most sunday drives. The water really messed up things worse than it usually does. Today the water was just right to be wrong. Not deep enough for the boat but just about tooooooo deep for my pickup. Thank god for diesel pickups on days like today. Here is a few pictures..........Big Ronnie

Every year as the water falls a foot the deer move a foot closer back to their home.
Posted Image

Then we finely made it to the lake and found everything tore up or gone.

This is the store at the landing where we camp at. The water has been hard on it in the past but i think it got it this time. It floated up and off the slab and the walls are all leaning outwards bad.
