A guy I farm with introduced me to another farmer today. I think it is so awesome how most farmers around here really get hunting with dogs! This guy gave me permission to coon hunt his 500+ acres whenever I wanted to go. He has 4 ponds and a few creeks on his place and feeds several cows too. He just wants me to "thin out" the coons that have been eating his cattle feed. Wish I was able to hunt now! I would be there now..LOL Got a good kill hole for my younger dogs this fall...yippie! People, those of us that must hunt private land would be in trouble if it wasn't for all the nice farmers!! Please try to treat them with respect...close their gates and don't drive in their fields!!! LOL |

Ben we have a man that has 1000 or more acres of woods that is a big time deer hunting club that joins our club and he lets us coon hunt half of it. One day I met him on the gravel road that goe's to his camp and I ask him about coon hunting it and he has let us hunt each year ever since. No way can we deer hunt on it but they are big time turkey hunters and they know that the coons destroy turky nest and eat their eggs. He lets us start hunting it the first night after deer season is closed untill 1 week before turkey season opens. It's good to have someone like this to let you hunt more and different places. Hope you recover soon so you and Luke can get in there and start back to hunting.........Big Ronnie

I am really excited about this spot. These older farmers really understand what hunting is all about! It would be nice if I get an opportunity to help him out sometime down the road. I am really blessed to be able to hunt these places. We ALL need to show respect to the landowners AND the other hunters out there. We all have to share what the good Lord gave us! Maybe y'all can join me for a hunt at this place one day....you're always welcome to hit the woods with me!! |

My father in law has about 400 acres that i can hunt any time but he has some trapper blood in him and he is catching coons and killing them as fast as i can tree them. He bout got em wiped out . Makes for a long night of hunting the bluffs with no strike and no tree LOL. Still lots of squirrels and a great catfish pond though. |
