They say that bread is fatting and fried foods are fatting and mayinaise is fatting plus salt is no good for you and I almost forgot that they say a lot of pepper is also bad for you. I really tried to talk myself out of eating this thing for supper like I eat the one last night but I failed. I tried telling myself that I don't need to be eating food like this but I could only think how good I knew it was going to taste. IT WAS JUST AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. Laree said for me to go for it because she wasn't going to enter me in (no more) beauty contest............Big Ronnie I don't know about good and good for you but I do know about the good part.

Glen french bread is just like fords and chevys. Some is better than other and there is a place in Laplace La. on 61 (Mabiles) that serves lunchs and po boys to all the working folks in tiown. They are the best I have ever found. When I go through there I always stop and get what they call a combo (shrimp and oysters) together and they put a pile of them on it toooooo. They get their french bread from a local bread maker there in town and this is what makes the sandwich so good. When I'm headed home from there I always get 3 loaves or sticks of their bread and bring home with me. A stick of their bread is 4 foot long. I like the bigger shrimp on mine and Laree fantails them and puts salt, black pepper and flour on them and frys them. You don't fry shrimp very long though just till the flour is brown. Then we cut the french bread in about 8 in. pieaces and put mayinaise, sliced tomatoe, a little lettce and about 2 times too many shrimp or oysters on it. I like sliced tomatoe with salt and pepper and mayinaise on them in a plate with this or better yet some green fried tomatoes. Laree also fixs hamburgers the same way on french bread...........Big Ronnie |
