This is the my new toy. To be completely comfortable with a gun I like to be 100% satisfied with it from one end to the other. I kept looking at this gun yesterday and I"m just not much on black stocks. I decided that if I was going to ever really like this gun I was going to have to make some color changes in the stock to start off with. It took several hours last night of sanding, primeing, painting and more sanding and painting but I finely got it close to where I want it. At least I like it better now anyway. Checking on a camo kit that comes with 3 different camo colors in it. What do ya'll think about my after hour country boy gun shop work?..............Big Ronnie

Now that's what I call minute of elk, or rather minute of gater in your neck of the woods. Very, very nice group. Loads of guys don't realize how quick a barrel can heat up. I hear guys complaining "man I cant get this thing to group". Letting it cool down is usually the trick. BR, you will have to get into reloading when things slow down for you. Remember, those Barnes need a clean barrel, even the triple shocks. I use KG12 with great results. It can be bought on line. Keep up the good shooting.

I finely had time or took time to go shoot my toy some today. I shot about a half of box of Federal Preiume 300 weatherbys and about the same in the Weatherby 300 triple shocks. After a few adjustments and a little shooting time it was shooting a 2 inch group at 100 yds. with the Federals. It shot the Weatherby triple shocks a lot better. With the weatherby triple shocks at a 100 yds. it shot a 2 shot group with the first 2 shots each time you could cover with a dime but after 2 shots it would start riseing a little. This stainless fluted barrel will get hot quick after a few shots thru it but in just a matter of few minutes it would be cooled completely down. Unbelievable quick on how fast it would cool down. It will take a few more times to completely get the feel of it but I can see now that it's going to be alright. When you hunt with a gun for 25 years and then start shooting a different gun it takes a little shooting time to get that comfortable feeling you need to have. The only thing wrong is shooting time gets expensive with this gun at $90 per box of bullets.............Big Ronnie
