I had to send my tritronics receiver back to have it worked on and told her the dog had been sprayed recently so it might smell. She told me that according OSHA they could not work on anything with a biological contaminant on it. Told her I didnt blame them. She asked if I would like a recipe to cut the smell so here it is.

1 box of baking soda

1 quart of hydrogen peroxide

tablespoon of Dawn dish soap

gallon of water.

Let collar soak five or ten minutes then rinse

repeat until clean.

Hey it works great took me a few cycles but you cant even smell it. Works on the dog to. Soaped him up, rubbed it in and rinsed him off no skunk. Just the recipe is almost worth the money I had to pay to have the collar replaced.

Clayton, do you put the receiver in the liquid that long also? I know it's suppose to be water tight! But I'd be afraid mine might have a crack or a bad seal in it. I'd probably not tell them and send it to them in ziplock bag. More than likely they'd send you a new one, and still take your money LOL. TANKER

I haven't had that problem. Mine won't mess with them. Just ask Tom or Troye.

I think Rusty likes em. He found one at the World Hunt too. He went back to where it sprayed him and wallered in it.

I coulda used that a couple months ago. Comet hates skunks. I think he hates them even more now caused he walked around with his hair on back standing up for about 30 min after he killed his last one. I think my wife was even madder than him when I got home though. Lol

I went hunting with Tom and Troye one night in Grenada and one of my dogs come up missing when we were trying to load the dogs to leave. I got my garmin out to find him. It was showing him out about 200 yards and some change. So I started calling him and he didn't respond. I told Tom and Troye that's not like him he on track and fixin to tree. That's when the smell hit us. I was glad Troye had a garbage bag in him truck. I finally called him in and used the garbage bag like a glove to remove the collars. When that collar gets wet it still smells like a skunk.

When poor ole Sadie gets wet she smells like a skunk. I've had some blue ticks that would kill a skunk and I've got a bunch of skunks out of a trap but I've never smelled a skunk that was as strong as that one

When Willa was about 2 years old, she'd kill one almost ever time out!! Then one night I was hunting some ol Farmland, and I seen her take off towards an old falling in building. I could see the skunk just starting to go under it when Willa caught it!!! WRONG End to catch a skunk. That thing sprayed her right in the mouth and eyes. She went to sneezeing, gagging, pukeing. She put her head down in the tall grass and scooted about 50 yards out in to the field. I couldn't stand to get close to her!!!!! She walked back to the truck behind me. Glad she loads without a leash. She has never Bothered another one. That one Stinky Skunk, Broke Her. TANKER
