Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have posted on this site. When I stumbled upon this site I knew almost nothing about Kemmer Mt. Curs (still lots to learn). After reading your posts and seeing the photos of your dogs, we changed our minds from getting a black mouth cur to a Kemmer. It took us a while to find one as they are as rare as common sence in these parts. Our pup is now 7 months old and we are kind of nutty over him. Originally, I thought I would keep him outside and drew up an eleaborate kennel design. My wife put her foot down and insisted that the dog be kept inside. I always thought that was supposed to be the other way around. I know if one of you old timers had our Bobby, he would be a great hunter. I'm doing my best trying to find him stuff to tree, but other than the park, it's slim pickings around here. Got him started on a coon skin and he really enjoys playing with it. Generally, when do you all start a pup on coons. He will be solo. I think I heard about 9 months, I'm sure it depends on the dog. Don't want to start him too young. As soon as it warms up a little, we are going to be doing the caged coon thing.

Micheal, Welcome to our ksba family. I got my first kemmer before I knew what the ksba was. Since I have joined I have seen how helpful and nice everyone is. I don't think there is a better group of people around. Can you tell me how you got your wife to let you have your dog inside? I haven't figured that one out yet. I can give pointers though on how to bring extra ones home with out getting in trouble, or at least not a lot of trouble.
