Kaelyn brushed a lock of her auburn hair out of her face. It had been a slow day. Again, she wondered to herself about finding a real job. She caught the eye of a handsome man walking by. She smiled slowly as he stopped by her. Another fish in her net, more coins for her purse. A quick conversation, a few giggles, lightly touching his arm. He was hooked. She winked again, and drew him into a room at a near by motel. They knew her there. She wasn't cheap, but she was easy. ---- The woman scowled as the man walked away. She rubbed her hands down her arms, shuddering. He'd demanded to call her baby girl, and he'd tugged at her collar. She adjusted it, wanting to call it a day, but knowing she hadn't met her self set quota. She settled for cleaning herself, growling curses. Her head jerked up as a knock came at the door. Her skin began crawling. The knocking became less polite, more insistent. A man's voice. "Kae, you gotta go. They comin to bust you." Kaelyn swore as she quickly redressed and grabbed her purse. Moments later she was down the block and away from the motel. Guess she had to call it a day. The ubiquitous they? Rival women, largely unattractive halflings. Didn't like that a shifter like her could come in and steal the men away so easily. But they money was good in this part of town. She made her way down the street, finding herself in front of a little cafe. Her stomach rumbled, reminding her she hadn't eaten yet today. She let out a sharp sigh as she pulled her hair into a simple ponytail and slid in place at a corner table. |

He'd scarcely been back in contact with the red-headed male and he was already falling back into bad habits, that were no longer as innocent or without consequences as they once were. Groaning he resisted the urge to roll his eyes, keeping them instead fixed upon the task at hand; driving. Beneath him hummed the mixed engine, putting to use a variety of both hydro and solar powering techniques the sound it produced when running was unique, although no way near as beautiful as his Ojo back at the garage whom he never rode anywhere. Leaning into the corner with his bike the city rose up from the ground before him, cold and concrete towers breaking up the lush wild lands in-between. While he couldn't quite figure out how to deal with the situation back in Ellensburg, he could at least get around to approaching various part centers and other garages in an attempt to build upon his feeble list of connections; the garage had to be opened eventually or he'd starve, such work had already been put off more then enough already. Following the roads he made his way through the outer sectors of the city. Glancing a few prime spots he hoped he'd remember long enough to return to and see if they'd be interested in forming some business ties. It was hard pleasing others to expand the means of his own work, aware of the fact he wasn't one of the most easy people to get along with, nor the most popular guy in the crowd as much as he may wish he was. Parking the motorbike he swung his leg over the side, raising slowly and stretching stiff muscles out one by one, like a cat just awoken from slumber. Peeling the stylized goggles from his eyes he rubbed them briefly, still sore from his minor drunken breakdown the prior night, thankfully the vast majority of the redness had settled down, making him appear more hungover instead of a grown man who'd cried his eyes out over his own stupidity. With his bike secure he shoved leather wrapped hands into his typically black leather jacket, blue head ducking down into the warmth of it's soft material. In contrast to the black gloves and coat, he wore a dark green t-shirt, with heavily worn baggy jeans adorned with large studded belt and chains, typical piercings adorning his face completed his image, the mechanic having been too tired from the prior nights events to even mess around and change what piercings decorated his features. Keeping mostly to himself he hugged to the alleys, not fearing what dangers may linger within from an inherent stupidity and predatory arrogance. A few people met his eyes, but no of interested or worth to cause him to alter his path; he was here for business, building connections within the motor trade. He wasn't in the lovely big city, full of clubs and places of ill repute, to have fun and forget the reason he's left Ellensburg with his tail between his legs....[/css] [css=text-align:right;font-family:georgia;font-size:12px;color:#617182;font-decoration:italic;line-height:10px;]• • • THERE WAS A TIME WHEN MY BEST WAS GOOD ENOUGH[/css][css=text-align:right; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;font-size:16px;color:#282f49;padding:0px 0px -5px 0px;]I'd give some more, but now i've just given up[/css] |

She slipped out of the cafe after having eaten a small meal and sipped her vanilla spice latte. She was humming to herself as she walked, until a good looking man caught her eyes. Green eyes assessed him idly before she grinning crookedly, a charming if not somewhat feral grin. He was cute. She didn't often see a guy so good looking out this way, most of her... friends were desperate and lonely men looking for a way to get trouble off their minds. She slid up next to him, drinking in a breath of his scent in an unconscious way. It wasn't something she thought of when she did it, it was just habit. A habit she hated, but her keen nose had gotten her out of situations that could have otherwise been very bad for a woman of her profession. A sweet, winning smile pulled her lips into a cute pout. "Hey there sweetie. Never seen you here before." She winked playfully. At this point she would toss her red streaked hair over her shoulder in ma flirty manner, but she settled for twisting the end of her pony tail playfully. "You new? I could show you around," she purred, playfully batting her eyes at him. |

[css=text-align:left; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;font-size:16px;color:#282f49;padding:0px 0px -5px 0px;]If I gave you the ocean, you would ask for the sun[/css][css=text-align:left;font-family:georgia;font-size:12px;color:#617182;font-decoration:italic;line-height:10px;]BUT IF I GAVE YOU THAT SUNLIGHT, YOU WOULD SAY IT'S NOT WHAT YOU WANT • • •[/css] [css=text-align:center;]Just the echo of his own footsteps accompanied him for the briefest of moments, thoughts dwelling upon his humiliation and current subject matter to sulk upon. Lifting his head at the last moment he was slow to respond to the woman's response, barely even acknowledging her presence until she spoke and drew his attention away from his personal dilemma. Rather rude that people can't even let a guy sulk and throw a tantrum in a city where he thought himself unknown; not that throwing a tantrum was his reason for being in the city, he was there for genuine business matters; or at least that was what he kept telling himself to justify his own actions. Shoving his hands into his jackets pockets he grabbed holed of the few scarce solars he had in his pocket, along with his phone and keys, feeling more secure with them in his hands so that any attempts of theft would be noticed, whilst slit eyes flicked to the small movement of the unknown woman twirling her hair, a pierced eyebrow arched in response with clear humour in his expression. Perhaps on another day he would have been interested, played his cards and attempted to swoon the woman into his bed, heck, any day he would attempt to do so with anything on two legs and breathing if he was completely honest. Only today he was still sore from the events with Valerian, both mind and body exhausted and the least bit interested in any kind of intimate socialization. Business transactions were fine, they weren't personal, didn't require any emotion from him. “Well if that was meant to charm or impress me in some manner, you fell a fair bit short girl. Go bark up some other tree, go along” waggling his hand he opened his palm and closed it repeatedly, before returning it to his pocket “Shoo, shoo” the words were harsh, mocking and they were glorious things to say, however wrong it was to take his lousy mood out upon a girl. Inclining his head he made a show of his teeth, correcting his posture to make full use of his height in a common show of dominance amongst animals, a last resort encase the woman was shifter; it was hard to tell with complete strangers he personally found. “God knows what disease I would catch from remaining near the likes of you” tutting loudly he barely contained the dry laughter that tickled the back of his throat.[/css] [css=text-align:right;font-family:georgia;font-size:12px;color:#617182;font-decoration:italic;line-height:10px;]• • • THERE WAS A TIME WHEN MY BEST WAS GOOD ENOUGH[/css][css=text-align:right; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;font-size:16px;color:#282f49;padding:0px 0px -5px 0px;]I'd give some more, but now i've just given up[/css] |
