We need some rules for the role play and I am suggesting these for people to comment on and to add to:
Time: Generally 1 day real life time = 1 week game time, however this is flexible for summits and wars.
Wars: Surprise attacks are OK, but movement of troops must be realistic (i.e. slow) and casualties to opponent forces can only be 10% of the force engaged unless agreed to by the opponent, with more wounded than killed. Attacks where the attacker does not outnumber the defender by 3 to 1 are unlikely to be successful.
No Godmodding: Only small amounts which are not objected to and can be overlooked but continuous abuses or complaints will be moderated.
No Godtech: Another form of godmodding, do not introduce technology that is too advanced for the time period you are playing in. New technology has to be researched and take the due amount of time.
Limited Deus ex Machina: (a literary devise to get out of unsolvable problems) to be used sparingly. Too many will be judged as godmodding.
Stats: No nation stats are being used. NS stats can see massive variations over a couple of days and populations in the billions etc.
Maximum population 80 million. Elderly in the range of 10 to 25%. Children in the range 10 to 50%. Active population therefore between 25 and 70%, half to a third of the number of children are parents who can’t be enlisted into the military, a number of the active people equal to a quarter of the number of elderly can only be used for home defence at a last resort, (along with up to a quarter of the elderly) at least 12% of the population are involved in essential work and can’t be enlisted. If there is conscription a maximum of 1/40 of the active population are from one year group.
E.g with an active population of 64 million, if conscription lasts 3 years then the serving military is 4.8 million (including women 64/40 x 3). If there is a five year reserve the reserve would be 8 million.
Government budgets should be realistic and linked in some way to income tax levels and other taxes.
No psychics: That is if something is said in private by another player that you could not possibly know, you cannot then use that information as if you knew it.
Role play is set in modern era tech
