There are more creatures in the world than just humans and Fiends. The following is a list of magical creatures one may find while travelling through Orisend. Please note that this list is not all-inclusive. An NPCer reserves the right to create a new creature for the purposes of whatever event they happen to be NPCing-these, however, are the most common.

Entries will be organized in the following way:

Creature Name - Self-explanatory. This is whatever the creature is called.
Rarity - Some creatures are more likely to be seen than others. Rarity can be Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Mythic. Common creatures are those that would cause no normal person to even look twice-they're as commonplace as squirrels in our world. Uncommon are creatures that are not seen on a regular basis, but their presence is only an interesting highlight of one's day. Rare creatures are those that are definitely real, but are seen so little that some people might assume they're extinct. Finally, Mythic creatures are those that are so rare that most people regard them as stories, or, if they believe them to be real, may think they're extinct-usually, telling someone you saw a mythic creature will result in them scoffing at you and telling you to lay off the booze.
Description - This is a physical description of the creature in question. We will try to be as exact here as possible.
Intelligence - This is a brief description of the creature's mental ability.
Details of Note - These are any magical details about the creature that may be important-a dragon's fire breath and ability to fly despite its massive weight, for instance, would apply.

~~~
Creature Name - Alicorn
Rarity - Rare
Description - Alicorn are horselike creatures, usually white, but not always. Their color is always uniform. Alicorn possess a single horn in the middle of their foreheads, as well as large wings.
Intelligence - Alicorn are no more intelligent than normal horses.
Details of Note - An Alicorn's horn, when ground up, can be used as an antidote for any poison. Additionally, Alicorn are capable of flight, despite their impressive weight. They are not slowed by the weight of others, and therefore make excellent steeds, but they are impossible to tame.
Creature Name - Angel
Rarity - Mythic
Description - Angels resemble humans, roughly 8 feet tall, with large white bird-like wings on their shoulders. Angels are regarded as beautiful by human standards.
Intelligence - Angels are as intelligent as humans, and are possessed of a telepathic ability.
Details of Note - Angels can use magic of the air, light, and pure elements, and are capable of flight, regardless of their weight. Additionally, Angels can read the minds of humans-but only humans. Angels, contrary to popular belief, are not entirely good-rather, they support order in all its forms, and will do whatever it takes to maintain order.
Creature Name - Banshee
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - A Banshee is a type of spirit that takes the form of a pale, rotting woman in a grey dress. Banshees do not have legs.
Intelligence - While Banshees may attack intelligently, they lack the intelligence to communicate. They will attack the living as long as they are near.
Details of Note - Banshees can vanish to evade defeat once a day. They are immune to most weapons, but magic and silver affects them. Banshees are most notable for their screams-a banshee's scream is incredibly loud, and can incapacitate unbranded foes. Banshee are considered undead.
Creature Name - Basilisk
Rarity - Rare
Description - A basilisk resembles a massive snake, large enough to swallow a horse whole without a lump appearing in the body. Basilisk have hoods, like cobras.
Intelligence - Basilisk are no more intelligent than normal snakes, but far more vicious.
Details of Note - A basilisk is rumored to cause death with just a glance. This is an exaggeration. A Basilisk's hood, when fully unfolded, has a hypnotic effect on those it faces. This effect is less effective on magical opponents, and is useless against those with the 2nd Tier Brand (and higher). It almost immediately strikes once the victim has been hypnotized. A basilisk's venom can kill in minutes, though most human sized targets would be killed instead from the puncture wounds of the basilisk's massive fangs.
Creature Name - Brownie
Rarity - Common
Description - A brownie is a nocturnal humanoid, about a foot tall, and quite fat. Their skin is a mottled shade of grey. Brownies typically wear clothes that they made themselves.
Intelligence - Brownies are intelligent, though not quite as intelligent as humans. They enjoy crafts, notably making clothes and shoes, but avoid being seen at all costs. Brownies are benevolent, and at night, will make repairs to objects within a house, so long as they are provided with food. They are, however, incapable of speech.
Details of Note - A brownie is capable of changing it's skin color to match it's surroundings. As it typically inhabits wooden houses, this usually makes their skin brown, hence their name. In case their camouflage does not work, they can also turn invisible.
Creature Name - Bugbear
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - A Bugbear is related to a goblin, but much larger, roughly the size of a bear, hence their name. Their skin is grey-green, they have large, pointed ears, and they have only three fingers and toes on each limb. Their faces resemble those of pig's, but flattened.
Intelligence - Bugbears are intelligent, but not as smart as humans. They are capable of working together, but are malicious. Usually, any alliances made between Bugbears are doomed to fail due to infighting.
Details of Note - Bugbears lack magical ability. Their only magical quality is an unnatural pain tolerance, as well as the inability to bleed out.
Creature Name - Centaur
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - A centaur is a creature with the body of a horse. Where the horse's neck would begin, a human torso begins instead. Neither of a centaur's composite halves look strange compared to a natural being, other than being attached to one another.
Intelligence - Centaurs are just as intelligent as humans in every way. They form their own communities, referred to as herds, and engage in trade with human communities. Most are benevolent, but just as humans can be evil, so can centaurs.
Details of Note - None
Creature Name - Cerberus
Rarity - Rare
Description - A cerberus is a wolf-like creature, pitch black, but with three heads. While myths claim they are massive, a cerberus is truly only the size of a natural wolf.
Intelligence - A cerberus is as intelligent as a wolf, but each of it's heads have it's own brain, and therefore, it's own thoughts.
Creature Name - Changeling
Rarity - Rare
Description - Changelings do not have a natural form that is known to any living being, due to their magical ability.
Intelligence - Changelings are malevolent and have an appetite for human flesh. They are as intelligent as human beings.
Details of Note - Changelings, hence their names, are capable of changing their form. They can look like any human they see, but cannot mimic spells or natural ability.
Creature Name - Chimera
Rarity - Rare
Description - A Chimera is a large creature, the size of an elephant. It's chest, forelegs, and head looks like a lion's. It's hindquarters resemble a goat's, and a goat's head rises out from the center of it's back. Finally, the Chimera's tail is that of a snake's head.
Intelligence - A Chimera no more intelligent than any other beast, but it's size and power make it incredibly dangerous.
Details of Note - Each head is capable of breathing fire. The snake head is capable of producing venom. Each head needs to be killed to truly kill the Chimera.
Creature Name - Cyclops
Rarity - Rare
Description - A cyclops resembles a massive humanoid, around 15 feet in height, composed of almost entirely muscle. A cyclops possesses only one eye.
Intelligence - While intelligent for a beast, a cyclops is considered quite stupid compared to humans. It is capable of using simple tools, such as clubs.
Details of Note - A cyclops is immensely strong. It's eye can see through wood and stone.
Intelligence - Doppelgangers are just as intelligent as their human counterparts, and believe themselves to be humans until they meet who they're copying. At that point, a doppelganger will remember their true form, and will attempt to kill the one they copied.
Details of Note - Until they remember who they are, doppelgangers are identical in ability to humans. Upon receiving their memories, a doppelganger will become far stronger and faster than before.
Creature Name - Dragon
Rarity - Mythic
Description - Dragons are massive reptilian creatures. They have four legs with four claws each, and two wings on their shoulders. Dragons begin life about the size of a small dog, but grow all throughout their lives.
Intelligence - Dragons are incapable of speech, but are very intelligent, for beasts. While not exactly malevolent, they will not hesitate to kill humans. A dragon may be tamed, but very few people are capable of doing so-the vast majority die in the attempt.
Details of Note - Dragons are capable of breathing fire, and can fly, despite their massive size. Most magic is repulsed by their hides. Unless killed, dragons will live forever. Due to the danger they present, they have almost been hunted to extinction.
Creature Name - Draugr
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - A Draugr is an undead warrior cursed to guard the tomb in which it was buried. It looks just like it did in life, at various stages of decay. The oldest Draugr look shriveled and mummified.
Details of Note - Dryads are capable of using either Wood or Water elements, depending on their variety. They are mostly benign, but if something threatens their charge, they will stop at nothing to destroy the threat.
Creature Name - Fairy
Rarity - Common
Description - Fairies are small humanoids, no larger than 2 or 3 inches, who have large butterfly wings of various colors and shapes. Fairies tend to look pretty.
Intelligence - Fairies are smart, but mischievous. They enjoy playing jokes more than cooperating, and are considered annoying by almost every species capable of forming opinions.
Details of Note - Fairies are capable of flight, and are surprisingly strong-a single fairy can lift a human through the air. Additionally, for perhaps their own safety, fairies are capable of making magic pass over them without touching them.
Creature Name - Faun
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - Faun resemble humans, for the most part, but are quite a bit hairier, with a pair of goat horns on their head. Additionally, from the waist down, a faun's body looks like the tail end of a goat.
Details of Note - Fauns have no magical ability.
Creature Name - Gargoyle
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - A Gargoyle is not technically alive, but rather a stone statue imbued with a powerful spell, giving it life in the event that the place it is stationed at is attacked. Gargoyles, being manmade, come in a wide variety of shapes, though most have wings and four legs, similar to dragons.
Intelligence - Gargoyles are possessed of no intelligence, other than to fight. They remain as stone statues until their home is endangered, at which point, they fight against the threat. When the threat has been removed, they become stone once again.
Details of Note - Gargoyles are living stone-therefore, damaging them is quite difficult. Thankfully, they are only active when their home is endangered, so they are not much of a threat.
Creature Name - Ghost
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - Ghosts are spirits that take the form of a nearby deceased, sometimes appearing rotted, and sometimes not appearing with legs, though this is up to the whim of the ghost. They will continue to haunt the nearby area, or a specific item, for decades before fading away and requiring a new form. Their base form is invisible and harmless.
Intelligence - In their base form, Ghosts are thoughtless. When impersonating the dead, they possess the intellect, memories, and emotions of the dead being, and can remember their time as other beings. After a few decades in a single form, however, a ghost will turn violent, no matter what.
Details of Note - Cannot be truly destroyed-when "killed", they simply revert to their natural state. Immune to normal weapons, but silver can cut them and magic affects them. When a ghost is nearby, the air feels noticeably colder. Ghosts may also possess the living in order to leave their haunting grounds, though this lasts for only a few hours at most. Ghosts are considered undead.
Creature Name - Ghoul
Rarity - Rare
Description - Ghouls are deceased humans, possessed by wayward spirits. A ghoul will exhibit more signs of rotting as it gets "older", as the possession does not slow the decaying process. Ghouls can slow the process, however, by consuming human flesh. In it's natural state, the spirit of a ghoul is invisible and harmless.
Intelligence - Ghouls gain the memories of the bodies they possess, but are malevolent in nature, and delight in torture. They are as intelligent as humans.
Details of Note - Removing the head or burning the body are the only known ways of killing a Ghoul, though the spirit that created the ghoul cannot be so easily killed. Ghouls eat human flesh, and are considered undead.
Creature Name - Giant
Rarity - Rare
Description - A giant resembles a very large human, with thick legs and hips necessary to lift its weight. Giants wear simple clothing and wield clubs and massive axes. Their skin is quite pale, and their large eyes are entirely black.
Intelligence - Giants seem to be intelligent to some extent, such that they exhibit the use of tools and can make logical decisions, but they have not been seen speaking to one another, and do not associate with humans.
Details of Note - Most spells are reflected from a Giant's hide. It is suspected that they are capable of telepathy, due to their lack of verbal communication, though this hasn't been proven. Giants will avoid humans at all costs.
Creature Name - Gnome
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - Gnomes are a short, humanoid species, roughly two feet tall at most, who live underground in tunnels. Their skin, hair, and eyes all follow human norms. They wear clothing.
Intelligence - Gnomes are as intelligent as humans, and develop their own communities. However, gnomes are a secretive species, and avoid contact with even other communities of their own species. Those few gnomes that venture from their homes are noted to be particularly bright in the areas of invention and alchemy.
Intelligence - Goblins are technically intelligent, but compared to most civilized races, quite stupid. They can organize and communicate, but most alliances fall apart due to infighting. Goblins use weapons and tools, but seem incapable of developing actual skill with those objects, and tend to just swing them as hard as they can. They tend to be malevolent, but cowardly-they will run unless they outnumber their target.
Details of Note - Goblins lack magical ability. They have a heightened pain tolerance, and cannot bleed out.
Creature Name - Golem
Rarity - Rare
Description - Golems are creations given life. They can be constructed of almost anything, and can be almost any shape, though most are shaped like humans, likely due to the fact that only humans make them.
Intelligence - Golems are quite intelligent, and are capable of speech and expressing their thoughts, but live secluded lives away from humans. Most are, by nature, quite peaceful. If their creator still lives, they cannot refuse their creator's whims, which may lead to violent Golems.
Rarity - Rare
Description - A harpy is a large avian creature with the head and breasts of a woman. No male harpy has ever been observed. Creature Name - Hellhound
Rarity - Rare
Intelligence - Kraken do not seem overly intelligent, nor do they seem to recognize pain. They simply attack until they are either killed or have killed all those they are interested in. They do not seem to notice smaller ships, such as rowboats.
Details of Note - Whether it is an effect of the Kraken or not, every Kraken attack is accompanied by a terrible storm that makes escape even more difficult.
Creature Name - Lich
Rarity - Rare
Description - A Lich is an undead spellcaster. The Lich looks like whatever it did in life-it differs from most undead in that the Lich made a conscious choice to become an undead before it died. Details of Note - Sea Serpents can spray water from their mouths with enough force to punch through the hulls of wooden ships. Most spells reflect off of their hides.
Details of Note - Shades are immune to normal weapons, but can be hurt by magic or silver. Shades are considered undead.
Rarity - Rare
Description - Spriggans are green or brown (depending on age-younger ones are greener) creatures, about as tall as humans. They are mostly considered to be monstrously ugly. Parts of their bodies are made of a plant-like material that hardens to wood as they age. Their eyes tend to be either brown or green-they are very obviously connected to plants.
Intelligence - Spriggans are not quite intelligent, but are capable of planning in order to protect their groves. They, however, are incapable of determining true threats from false threats-they will attack anything in their groves that they do not recognize, and cannot be reasoned with.
Their faces are always uneven, they are typically either bald or have only sparse amounts of hair, and they seem to accumulate grime and filth like magnets. Their skin is grey-green.
Intelligence - Trolls are more intelligent than one would guess-they have their own language, and are capable of using and making tools. They sometimes ally with goblin-kin, but hate them almost as much as they hate humans, and are just as likely to turn against their smaller comrades if they're upset.
Details of Note - Trolls are immensely powerful, and are surprisingly fast for their size. Despite this, however, they are very vulnerable to light, and anything much harsher than moonlight or candlelight can leave painful burns on their skin.
Creature Name - Unicorn
Rarity - Rare
Description - Unicorns are stark white horses distinguished by the horns on their heads. These horns are typically sharpened to a point, and regrow when broken.
Intelligence - Unicorns are incredibly intelligent, almost as smart as humans, though they cannot communicate with most others. They are also very skilled at reading people, and will instinctively distrust those who have malicious intents, regardless of how well those intentions may be hidden.
Details of Note - Unicorns are capable of magically identifying the intent of others, and will distrust and avoid those who do not have pure intentions. Their horns can be ground up and rubbed into any injury to immediately heal it, and can be ingested to combat any poison or disease. Due to this, many of them are hunted for their horns, and have unfortunately been hunted to near extinction, despite their ability to regrow their horns if not killed.
Creature Name - Vampire
Rarity - Rare
Description - Vampires are almost indiscernible from human beings until they attack, and even then, extended, pointed canine teeth are the only identifying factor.
Intelligence - Vampires are no different in intellect from human beings, other than being possessed of a malevolent hunger towards humans. Upon becoming a vampire, a human loses their humanity and regards their fellow man as nothing more than a meal. There are no exceptions to this mental change.
Details of Note - Vampires are much stronger and faster than most humans, and have the innate ability to levitate. Vampires can extend their canine teeth at will. Their fangs secrete a venom that breaks down skin, making it easier to pierce the flesh, as well as passing along the vampire trait. Vampires can only feed on human blood-everything else makes them sick to their stomach. Vampires' skin is very sensitive to sunlight, capable of burning and blistering in only minutes after exposure. Finally, vampires heal very rapidly, but can normally be killed. Vampires are considered undead. An RPC CANNOT be a vampire-cures exist in the event of a bite, and if you allow your RPC to become a vampire, it will become an NPC instead.
Creature Name - Warg
Rarity - Uncommon
Description - A warg resembles a very large wolf, about the size of a horse. Wargs can sometimes be seen in the company of goblin-kin. The only distinction between Wargs and wolves, other than size, are their eyes-wargs have completely black eyes, with no iris or sclera visible.
Intelligence - Wargs are somewhat more intelligent than wolves, but only in that they seem to be capable of making a distinction between goblin-kin and humans. Wargs will attack any humans they see on sight. They will sometimes attack goblin-kin as well, but this is rather infrequent.
Details of Note -
Creature Name - Werewolf
Rarity - Rare
Description - Werewolves are indiscernible from human beings until they attack. At this point, their bodies take on a massive change-they grow a considerable amount of fur, their skin turns grey, their snouts extend, all teeth become sharp and pointed, all claws extend and become pointed, and the werewolf becomes much larger-typically growing a third of their body's height and weight. Their bodies change shape as well, becoming far more beast-like.
Intelligence - Werewolves are as intelligent as other people in their "human" form. Upon being angered, however, they take on their beast-like form. While in this form, a werewolf is possessed by an unending hunger-they will attack anything and everything around them, and will not stop until they have killed everything near them. While their human forms may not necessarily be evil, the risk they pose to society is massive.
Details of Note - Werewolves are far stronger and faster than humans, even in their human form. Their senses are also far more acute. All physical attributes are enhanced in werewolf form, however. Werewolf's fangs carry a venom that passes their traits along, but only if the victim survives the bite. As a result of their intense need to kill everything near them, thus making the chance of survival extremely slim, and the fact that most known werewolves are almost immediately hunted down, werewolf numbers are very low. An RPC CANNOT be a werewolf.
Creature Name - Will o' wisp
Rarity - Rare
Description - Will o' wisps are spirits capable of taking on a form of their own. These forms look like bright lights, and they keep their distance from humans at all times, thus typically only appearing as lights in the distance.
Intelligence - It is not possible to determine the intelligence of a Willowisp, as they avoid human contact at all costs and do not make attempts to communicate with any others.
Details of Note - They continually move away from any living creature that approaches them. If they cannot evade a target quickly enough by just moving, they have the ability to teleport as well.
Creature Name - Wyvern
Rarity - Mythic
Description - Wyverns are large reptilian creatures with massive wings in place of arms. They are related to dragons, and share coloration and claw shape. They are of a similar size as dragons, but are more streamlined and sleek, and are therefore more agile fliers, while not as physically powerful.
Intelligence - Wyverns are incapable of speech, but are very intelligent, for beasts. While they are not quite malevolent, and will not hesitate to kill humans. It is possible to tame a wyvern, but most people are not capable of doing so-in fact, most die in the attempt.
Details of Note - Wyverns are capable of breathing fire, and can fly, despite their massive size. Most magic is repulsed by their hides. Unless killed, wyverns will live forever. Due to the danger they present, they have been almost hunted to extinction.
