Whatcha say? Should we come up with short verses of DDO bawdiness? Delicious, derelict, defiant ditties dominating deviant, doleful, demented dances! Hear ye! Hear ye! Who's first? I imagine the Bard!. Not tonight, though, it's too late and I'm tired. Let's see if someone is faster than me and posts before I do tomorrow. The challenge is out!

The Lament of the Old Republic — By Tridley d'Jorasco (Sang to the tune of 'Star of the County Down', music file included below) There once was a time when no struggle was found A time before Stormreach was magic abound The people were merry, not a soul was left brawling Gather 'round, hear the story of the Republic's falling ... The ground it did tremble with quakes from below The oracles' visions were filled but with woe As fire and brimstone erupted from th'earth The forces of Hell unleashed their vile rebirth ... The people of Xen'drik, did fear this occasion Alas, they were not so prepared for invasion The races and guilds rallied forth into battle But lo, did those foul fiends slaughter them like cattle Oy dee oh, oy dee ay Old Republic be praised Oh do I, oh do you Soon again t'will be raised Oy dee oh, oy dee ay Old Republic that ceased Oh do I, oh do you Long again for its peace Corruption and hatred spread like wildfire Believe when I sing that these times were o'dire Like demons and devils, the races did war Revolution came forth as did never before ... The orcs and kobolds became bitter as brine The humans and dwarves claimed they all were malign The halflings took care to stay out of the quarrels As the high elves and drow split apart but in morals Oy dee oh, oy dee ay Old Republic be praised Oh do I, oh do you Soon again t'will be raised Oy dee oh, oy dee ay Old Republic that ceased Oh do I, oh do you Long again for its peace The druids did wander to lands far away And the shifters and changelings, they too fell astray Those whom remained formed the Houses of power Magewrights, artificers, made numerous a tower ... Once Hell was defeated, the people rejoiced But Republican ways never were again voiced The Houses took over, the nations did part So sing with me, fellows, I know this by heart ... Oy dee oh, oy dee ay Old Republic be praised Oh do I, oh do you Soon again t'will be raised Oy dee oh, oy dee ay Old Republic that ceased Oh do I, oh do you Long again for its peace Edited by Invirion, Dec 20 2011, 09:01 PM.
