A typical pure rogue build: Pure Rogue: Assassin III Halfling 20 Rogue Halfling: Neutral Good STATS: BASE 16 Strength 16 Dexterity 14 Constitution 12 Intelligence 8 Wisdom 8 Charisma (All 5 Ranks go into Strength) FEATS: 1 Rogue (feat)Two Weapon Fighting 3 Rogue (feat)Oversized Two Weapon Fighting 6 Rogue (feat)Toughness 9 Rogue (feat)Improved Two Weapon Fighting 10 Rogue (rogue)Opportunist (have not tested) 12 Rogue (feat)Improved Critical: Piercing 13 Rogue (rogue) Improved Evasion 15 Rogue (feat)Greater Two Weapon Fighting 16 Rogue (rogue)Crippling Strike 18 Rogue (feat)Power attack 19 Rogue (rogue)Skill Mastery ARMOR CLASS Nothin' Impressive. I might do the breakdown later, for now I’m focusing on DPS HP BREAKDOWN Rogue (6 per level) 120 Con: 120 Heroic Durability: 20 Draconic Vitality: 10 Minos Legens: 20 GS/ MIN II Item: 45 GFL: 30 Toughness 22 Racial Toughness II 20 Total: 407 +Madstone/Rage/Exceptional CON SKILLS Skills are simple. This build has tons and tons of skills. Every level, max as many of these skills are you can starting and number 1, and moving down the list. In order of importance: UMD Search Disable Device Open Lock Move Silently Hide Diplomacy Haggle Spot Bluff Balance Tumble Jump Any extra skills points, put them wherever you want. ENHANCEMENTS LEVEL 20: These enhancements are just a sample: you can set your enhancements any way you want. I don’t care at all what you choose. SNEAK ATTACK This is the shining point of the build: In the right situation, Sneak Attack is crazy damage. Example at Level 20: 10d6 : Every odd level a rogue gets +1d6 SA 3d6 : Assassin I, II, III add 1d6 per tier 4d6: Capstone Deadly Shadows +12: At levels 1,4,7,10 Rogues get +3 sneak attack from Sneak Attack Training AP +8 Halfling Sneak Attack (20 AP) +8 Tharne’s Goggles TOTAL: 17d6 + 28 Lowest you will see = 45 Average number= 87.5 Highest number you will see = 130! LEVELING INSTRUCTIONS In order to grab Improved Two Weapon Fighting at level 9, you need 17 DEX. Do this be eating a +1 DEX tome at level 8 or earlier. +1 tomes should be ~10k. You could buy one from the ddo store, but save your real money. During low levels, use whatever you can get your hands on. Kukris, longswords, scimitars, rapiers. Watch your aggro, since you will be low on hp. Get a heavy fortification item as early as possible. Use heroism pots, rage, flanking bonuses, and sneak attack to-hit to make up for your low to-hit Once you no longer have problems hitting enemies, swap Oversized Two Weapon Fighting for another toughness feat. You need the hp for end-game raids. If you have +2 tomes, feel free to drop DEX, and INT in favor of more CON. Weapon Choices. Rapier. Rapier is a good choice for rouges. The main reason, is that at higher levels you can craft a Radiance II Greenteel Rapier. Radiance is crazy. Expensive, but blinds enemies on a crit (no save) , ensuring that you’re always getting sneak attack against trash mobs.Greensteel radiance + blind + Sneak Attack + Assassin III = leading the kill counts! QUESTION & ANSWER Q. Why did you go Neutral Good? A. Good allows you to use Pure Good weapons for leveling up, and at higher levels you will be able to UMD any alignment restricted weapon. Q. Why did you go 16 STR? A. 16 STR is expensive, but 95% of the game you’re swinging at monsters and dealing damage. Q. Why 16 DEX? A. You need 17 DEX for Improved Two Weapon fighting, you just have to eat a +1 DEX tome. Q. 28 Point Build? A. 14 Strength 16 Dexterity 15 Constitution 12 Intelligence Q. Why Bluff? A. Bluff isn't entirely useful in parties, though once in a while you might use it while soloing. Low priority, useful in the occasional situation if you plan to solo. Q. Why is this build Halfling? A.Ridiculous sneak attack. Bonus to DEX, halfing compliments rogues. Q. Why not a finesse build? A.Personally, I’m not a fan of finesse builds. I don’t like the slight loss of damage, and I don’t like being restricted to light weapons only. If you want a finesse build, drop STR, increase DEX, and drop Oversized TWF for Finesse. |
