There's pretty much to choose from. Currently being considered/looked into:
So what would you like to see? And what do you have to say about what's being considered/already implemented? |

Well you'd have to attach that in separate topics. I haven't seen many hosts allowing over 10 Mb. |

Instead of a "rep" system, how about you just award badges to users declaring they are valuable members of the community or so? I'm not insistent, but sometimes I feel the reputation business is over-done. |

@Krad just hate being repped. Anyway, I recommend AJAX on you guys, its a good chat room, better than XAT and it doesn't cause that much of lag that xat do. |

Awards are already in effect. You have one pinned to your chest already. And yeah, honestly might scrap the reputation concept. Working on a strike system though to work for disciplinary procedures. Already being considered if you read the list.

Eh, I noticed that award. What I meant was an explicit award that serves as a toned down, no, severely toned down version of that important guy badge you have. And you know, revoking posting rights after a particularly high warning level and all that. |

I've been considering a respected user award. I'll just have to set up some clear criteria so people don't snivel and worm their way about getting one. Something that won't sully the worth of it. If there's one thing I've noticed over the years; people want to consider themselves respected for every slim piece of effort they put into it. Infractions are being considered already. It will be part of the strike system. Also working on ways to appeal it, probably through forum currency or something (strictly handled by staff-appointees). |

Here's an idea, combine both the badges and the rep system. You put the rep system in the hands of the users, and once you reach a certain level of reputation you get a badge. If you get to a legendary state of rep, you get a unique badge. This way, it rewards loyal/respected members, but also rewards those that do help out the community. |

The only thing I have against that is the rep system itself. Unless we're implementing it differently, I suppose we can't-
And so on... My point is, the rep system contains constraints to prevent abuse, and to me, those constraints seem unwieldy. Like getting rep on hive for nothing, except someone wanted to spread it around. That really gets my goat. |

Speaking of Badges... Where's my former member of staff badge? Anyway, if we do have a rep system, I agree with Krad. On hive you get a load of rep for no reason, because people want to spread it around so they can rep other people. So if we do have one, I'd go with what Krad posted for restrictions. and perhaps what Jeebbers posted OR The admins can give who they feel is a respected member a badge. |
