John (ridden from home) Rick and Rod left Lake Wales via Fat Boys and Roden Rd into a strengthening 20+ mph wind to Frostproof where we sat inside the newly named Starlight Grill because of the wind,Returned via Walk in Water and Boy Scout, mostly at 25mph, John went home from there and the other 2 got back to Rod's just before heavy rain and thunder,54miles at 18.1mph,180 watts,cadence95. |

Rod calls it like it is/was and we were so charged at turnaround (probably since we knew we would have wind help home) that we shorted out the power at the restaurant when we walked in! No worries since they had bacon and a waitress ready to serve it up. We worked today! Good job John!

They make it sound so easy, and so kind are they. The fact of the matter is that it was blowing like a hurricane and they dropped me on Rhoden Rd. Rod had told me to stay on the wheel or it would be over. I fell off once and recovered but the second time it was over. They continued along at 15mph and they waited for me as I drug along at 13. Thank God the wind blew us home. |
