Rod, Rob, Ron, Metz, John, Rick, Mike ... need i say more ..Whereever we went, whatever road we turned ... we were recongnized in our kits, from PCSD to PABA to the Papparazzi ... see John's emailed photo of some PlanetX grimace's before the assault. And do note the Sheriff sign to the left, the place you go if you do not ride single file! I think we did around 55-60 miles at whatever pace we wanted. Breakfast (get the BLT!) was fun as we had our own stradegy table to ourselfs as the other team came to pay respects. My helmet goes off to Beth RAM at 80+ and a pleasure to meet the PABA Starlet. With some long pulls by Rod and Ron, and some recon by Rob, Rick and Mike. All was good when Rod and John rode off strong and Rick and Mike ran them down. A true moment as Metz pulled the entire PABA team and some of us down the trail. Wow, what a day. With the sun and our own Starlet (Mike) bringing us home I am out of words and look forward to the next day of no nonsense riding, and lets make sure to get off front with a few matches in the book and get back up front to do it again! And of course Roy is everywhere and in camo so he was there too.

some observations from the sat ride 1. the colnagno/camy carbon bike with the half boy half girl rider whom rode thru rod, rick/john and mike..then flamed out and told me he was in over his head was a hoot 2. seeing rod, john mike and rick off the front going up hill out of frostproof all i could think was any one going after them is in for a world of hurt! 3. the cop hooting his beeper and flashing his lights at our line..i though we were getting a speeding ticket 4. seeing metz pulling 20 or more riders..up hill ..into the wind on the dump road..well you just had to swell up like a puffer fish with pride 5. seeing ron pull at 24mph not realizing next in line was rod..rick..mike and john..in that order..thats BRAVERY 6. quietly trapping rick so that mike could attack him..then having to yell at mike to get after it while rick is asking me 'are you trapping me?" i almost pissed my pants |
