john, ron, roy rob sat on porch as rick pounded the road out from winter haven to meet us..off to the walk in water turn around ride we go. get to 60 road block..fatal crash on 60 out by indian lake estates..60 closed..traffic re routed onto walk in water road..of course the misery riders have no idea and just ride past the cops, ems..and cones off we go..get to turnaround see evidence of a semi had run off the road and ems ..cops etc in the mobile home park on left near turn around..we continue on with a steady stream of traffic heading north . we turn around planning to see if rick can catch us with a 90 second head start..but traffic way to heavy for that.. so bad in fact rod and john decide to ride back via frostproof the rest of us blindly head north we get a mile or two up and the road is closed with an ambulance and a helicoptor in the middle of the road road closed..car ran under semi..we run to dog yard handle the rutted road..and come home..has to be the most dangerous ride i have been on in 10 years..lights on in back of our line 30 worrisome miles |

John and I continued steadily to Frostproof to coffee and BLTs sitting in the sunshine.Back via 17 and 17B to Rod's for John to view a large vintage Nishiki which he may take to California to ride where he will have to work between rides. |
