Okay, Earlier I gave you guys general roleplaying tips for your character. Now I will give you roleplaying tips to help you better play your Archetype and Rank as well as the family you have joined.

Associates - At the beginning this is what everyone is. Some Associates are well respected and have power and respect among the families others don't and are trying to gain that power and respect. Here are the tips to play an associates, find a mobster already in a family and introduce yourself to him/her. First find their "legal" business. Most mobsters have legal businesses they use as a front and to launder money and avoid prosecution from the IRS. Begin working their. Even if you don't meet the capo or boss directly(who are usually the guys that own the business you will meet other associates or even made men that are working at the business. They will introduce you too the people you need to know. Once you start proving that you are increasing the families power and/or money you will gain the attention of higher ranked members of the family.

Made Man Initiation - A made man or soldier. Is someone who has proven to the boss that he is an important asset. He/she has done this by either helping the family get more powerful or making the family rich. Before becoming a made man you must make your bones(somehow be involved in an assassination of someone either as the driver, the killer, the one who dispose of the body it doesn't matter as long as your character was important and beneficial to the hit ). After you make your bones and the boss sees your potential he will contact you and ask you to meet him at a certain location. When you arrive at the location you will see a room filled with capos and bosses of different families and your boss will approach you. He will ask you if you know why you are being called to this meeting. chances are you probably do but say no anyways. He will tell you that you have proven yourself and are worthy of joining his family. He promises to be their for you under any circumstances and that you will be protected under him but also warns you of the consequences if you betray the family. After you agree to the invitation into "La Cosa Nostra"(this thing of ours) you will prick your finger and bleed over a picture of a saint and then the boss will light the picture of the saint on fire and make you recite words "if I betray my brothers may my soul burn in hell like this saint"

After that you are now a made man

Made Man tips - After you become a made man you will be working with one specific capo and helping him with his businesses and territories. This capo relies on you to make him his money and at first he will give you control of one of his lesser rackets. Prove yourself to him so you can get more responsibilities and opportunities. Don't be afraid to ask for more opportunities from your capo. If you ever have an issue with a member of your crew, another crew, or another family take it up with them first and if nothing comes out of it then take it up with your capo. If you ever have a problem with the capo try to resolve it between the two before you go to your boss... chances are the capo will not forget that you snitched on him to the boss.

Capo - Capos can be appointed 2 ways. If the bosses operations grow too big for the current number of capos to handle then the boss will find a made man to take up new responsibilities of the capo. If a capo slot is vacant because of a death, incarceration, or demotion then the boss has to appoint someone to fill it. A capo has control of a set number of his own businesses as well as some of the bosses businesses, the capo can not handle all this responsibilities himself so the capo will appoint made men to take care of some of the responsibilities aswell as some associates

Underboss - You are perhaps the most important of the capos besides the boss. After becoming an underboss you relinquish command of your crew but you still keep a small entrouage with you usually your closest friends and top enforcer. The underboss is usually appointed two ways. If the boss has undisputed power over the family, he usually appoints his most trusted capo to the rank of underboss... however if the boss only has support of a few of the capos and wants to keep peace he will assign the position of underboss to his biggest rival of the capos in order too keep him happy and keep him close. If the boss is incarcerated the underboss will then become the street boss and run the family on the outside while the boss still remains the boss but has little power from the inside of prison

Consigliere - Probably the most important position in the family besides the boss... Unlike the Underboss who is usually a Capo the Consigliere can be anyone even an associate. As long as he/she is trusted by the Boss to give the boss advice. If the family is at war the consigliere is usually the person who has experienced the most conflict and could advice the family and boss the most about war. If at peace time the consigliere is usually someone who can advise the boss the best in a peaceful situation(someone who can help maximize profit and power)

the Boss/street boss/acting boss - The boss is the most powerful position in the family and the most protected position. If a boss were to be killed the commission will find the person who killed him and make him suffer. The commission is the only group that can sanction a hit on a boss and even then they tend to keep that privilege only in dire situations. The boss appoints the capos and what rackets, territories, and businesses they get. If a boss is incarcerated in federal prison, then the someone will rise up and become the "street boss". The street boss is not the official boss but only the boss on the outside. The Boss in prison will still at times give commands but because of his situation his control is limited. An acting boss is someone who takes control of the family when the boss retires or is some how medically incapacitated and unable to fully lead his family.

Archetypes

Earners - your job is to make money, as much money as possible. Take control of rackets and find associates to help you make more money. Because money is your main business you might not be as skilled at assasination, intimidation, and fighting so you tend to team up with an enforcer to do that stuff for you this does not mean you won't break someone's legs yourself or shoot someone yourself if you have too but for the most part the enforcer that you associate with is gonna do your dirty work for you

Enforcer - An enforcer doesn't usually control too many rackets but he does the dirty work of those that do. They act as hitmen, bodyguards, and enforcers. If you need to convince a rival to do something you will send them to teach him a lesson, if you need a rival taken out you will send him to do the job, if you need someone to protect you it is usually an enforcer doing the job

Lawyer - Lawyers handle the legal stuff of the family. Usually one lawyer represents the family but if you are rich enough you can hire your own lawyer yourself. The bosses personal lawyer usually knows everything about the family operations. If the boss needs someone to represent him or any one else in court the lawyer will do that. If someone needs a business license or is being targetted by the IRS the lawyer will usually be called to handle that. Anything legal related the lawyer is the one in charge of that

Corrupt Cops - Although the code of Omerta strictly says one should not affiliated with law enforcement. Higher ranked members have corrupt cops in their pay roll that will do things a normal mobster can not do for them. even though most cops can be paid off very few actually involve themselves in the underworld.

The Commission - A council of bosses as well as bosses of affiliated groups that are not Sicilian families(even though they do not have a say in internal mafia activity they still have a say in the overall say of the criminal underworld)
