Darkness crept over the housing development, it was mostly quite, save for the sounds of the street and dogs barking faintly in the distance. Karyu was walking home, it had gotten quite late and he knew that if he wasn't home in the morning, his mother would worry too much about him. As he walked, he had to make a stop at a convenience store, picking up a small container of body spray and mouth wash to get the stench of sex off his body and out of his mouth. It was another one of those nights, he went to a party, got drunk and got laid by a few guys there before leaving. For him it was normal, a stress reliever. Karyu didn't have much care when it came to those things, though. He got himself tested regularly and kept himself clean, but even though he had many partners, he never contracted a disease. It seemed a bit odd to him, but he never thought on it for long. Paying the clerk for his things, Karyu set off back home. Gargling and swishing some mouthwash, he spit it out on the street as he walked before using the spray to hide the lingering smell of sex. He got a few odd looks as he walked, but he ingored them. Sometimes he could even feel someone watching him, even thought there was no one around. It was unsettling, and tonight he just couldn't shake that feeling as he walked home. |

Oh, Karyu. This guy was going to be the death of him. Kamijo’s son was a trouble maker and J was growing tired of his party lifestyle. The boy would never get into heaven if he kept going down this path. J made it his mission twenty years ago to watch over him and keep him hidden from the headhunters. No demon had found him yet. Maybe their scents countered each other. Good. J would protect him. He even kept holy water if the occasion called for it. No one would hurt him. But it was getting more and more difficult to try and steer him towards goodness. J was conflicted, since he was a demon himself. He liked the darkness and the corruption that surrounded Karyu’s lifestyle. He longed to get involved. He so badly longed to be one of his partners. But no. He must find a way to turn him towards good. Somehow. J was lost in his thoughts while tailing him home when he tripped into a trashcan. Surely that noise would have startled Karyu, who was only half a block ahead. J swore and righted the can, putting the lid gently back on. He tried not to look up at Karyu as he kept walking, looking as inconspicuous as possible. He had to remain unseen. Edited by Onose Jun, May 24 2014, 09:18 PM.

The night had remained quiet as Karyu walked, but the sudden and startling sound of a trash can toppling over made him jump. He turned around quickly, his eyes wide as he looked around to see who was following him. There was a man fixing the knocked over can, so Karyu used this chance to beat a hasty retreat. He started to walk quickly, trying to calm the anxious feeling building in his chest before he broke out into a run. Thankful that he wasn't too far from home, Karyu ran down the blocks. Taking a quick turn, he ran through a few yards as he started getting to the corner his home rested on. Just a little further now and he would be safe. He panted heavily and felt his legs screaming at him and his lungs dying for air, begging for him to stop, but the adrenaline in his system kept pumping as his mind told him to keep running, to get to safety. |

“Fuck…” J was losing him. Without hesitation, he took to the air, his wings spreading out behind him, he flew the quickest route and fell in just a block in front of Karyu’s home. J knew all the routes and which ones Karyu usually took. He spotted him and went down, landing easily and unseen between two buildings. He stepped out of an alley and turned around, thinking he’d finally catch up to him. Problem was, he was ahead of Karyu and the blond nearly ran right into him. Oops. “I’m sorry. Didn’t mean to scare you.” He said, seeing the terrified look on Karyu’s face. |

Karyu was panting and looking over his shoulder, seeing if the man behind him was following. He was so focused on that, but he didn't notice the sound of something landing in front of him until his thin body cloided with the much stronger, muscular one. He fell back with a startled shout and landed on his ass, catching him in surprise. When he looked up and saw the man from before, he gave a scared shout and started to try and crawl away. "Who are you!? And how the hell did you get here!? You were just... Why are you following me!" Karyu demanded as he looked up to the strong man towering over him as he tried to scramble to his feet. When he stood, he was taller than the man, but J had a presence about him that made him feel smaller than an ant. Stepping back, he looked back over his shoulder to try and plan a second rout of escape. |

“Shhh, Karyu. I won’t hurt you.” J reached out, trying to help him to his feet. “Calm down. You’re making a lot of noise and there are a lot of thugs nearby.” He always scouted the area and he knew which lowlifes lived where and who presented a danger to the blond. There were a few who would perk up at the sound of Karyu crying out. J didn’t want to have to kill anyone tonight. Damn. If only he landed one block further away. J never meant to be seen by Karyu. Of course, he eventually needed to work out a plan to have Karyu be less of a slut and do something good with his life. He also needed to find some way to have Karyu learn who he is. But is that really his place? He’d find out at the gates when he died. But maybe if he knew who he was, he would be a better person. And if his powers started to activate, he would be confused unless he knew of his origin. J just wanted to help. |

"Get away from me! How do you know my name? You're some kind of sick, creepy stalker!" Karyu took a quick step back from the man, trying to keep away from the strange man. Karyu didn't trust him, he was some weird stalker that did some freaky ass disappearing act. There was something strange with this man, something not right in the head and he knew he couldn't trust him. This man was dangerous, the way he looked, his aura that could send any thug running for their dear life... And his dangerous eyes, they pierced through him and saw deeply into him, making him shudder. There was nothing normal about those eyes... |

“Karyu, keep your voice down.” He said, taking another step forward. “You can trust me.” Karyu’s noises had drawn the attention of some nearby thugs. J saw them wandering over, three of them. He swore and pulled Karyu behind him, protecting him from the thugs. They each had a weapon, but none had a visible gun. They would be easy pickings. He couldn’t sense any coming from behind, only the three that came from behind Karyu. J was ready when the first thug attacked with a chain. He ducked and grabbed the weapon, pulling it free from the thug’s hands. He wrapped it around the thug’s neck and was choking him as another thug came forward. J kicked him back, causing him to drop the pipe he was holding. He swung around, still holding the first thug in a chokehold, and rammed into the third, knocking him off balance. The first went down and the second thug rose to his feet. J slugged him right in the face, breaking his nose. The thug swore and stepped back to compose himself. The third thug was on his feet with the pipe and came at J from behind. J was quick and caught the pipe, wrenching it free from his hands and swinging it to catch him in the head. The third thug went down. The second thug came back for another round and J hit him with the pipe, sending him to the ground. He turned, seeing all the thugs staying down. He tossed the pipe aside and went to Karyu’s side. “Are you alright?” He asked, not even winded. “Come on. Let’s get you home.” |

Karyu could only sit back and watch as the strange man started kicking ass. He was shocked, he didn't even break a sweat and was protecting him from the thugs in the area. He didn't know if he should be scared or thankful, he was feeling a little of both. Looking up to J, he scrambled to his feet as he watched the man closely. "Just who are you?" Karyu asked curiously as he turned to start towards home, knowing the man would follow him out of the ally. He wanted answers, and he wasn't going to leave the man alone until he answered them. There were so many questions floating in his head, he didn't know what to ask first, but it seemed the best thing to stick with was finding out his name. When he reached his home, he moved to sit on the porch of his house, looking up to the strange man. They would talk here, he wasn't going to let the stranger into his home. |

“Think of me as your bodyguard.” He said, looking around and watching their backs as they started walking. Karyu seemed curious, but walked steadily on and didn’t try to lose him this time. J felt confident they weren’t being trailed and they quickly ended up at Karyu’s home. His foster mother was either not home or in bed. The latter was more likely. Karyu sat on the porch and J took the liberty of walking onto the property and joining him. “I’m sorry I frightened you, Karyu. I’m not sure if you have seen me before, but I have been protecting you for a long time.” He wasn’t sure how much of what he needed to tell him Karyu would understand or accept. Something was coming, though and Karyu needed to know. “My name is J. And I know who you really are. Even if you do not.” He sighed, knowing this would be difficult to hear. How was he even going to begin. Karyu had a very feisty personality and he had a feeling the young man was going to get up and slam the door in his face. He would have to build a trust with him first. |
