J stood in Karyu’s backyard, waiting for the blond to appear. He usually took his morning coffee in the yard, sitting in the gazebo. J wanted to talk with him a little about self defense. Now that he had made his presence known to the halfbreed, he was going to do everything in his power to keep him protected, including teaching him to protect himself. That started with a little self defense lesson. It wouldn’t be anything major, though. He just hoped the blond would be interested. He seemed very anti-violence. J had been thinking about this all night. He had already done his morning rounds and the property was clear. The skies weren’t, however. It looked like it might rain. Hopefully it would stay dry for a few hours. That was all J was hoping for. A little lesson. He was hoping he could use a flight around the city as incentive. He had seen the way Karyu had been looking at his wings and he figured it would be enough. He hoped. |

Karyu got his coffee and had breakfast with his mother before taking his coffee and going outside, wanting to enjoy the morning. Sighing softly, he stretched his legs, his hoodie and sleep pants hanging off is frame as he walked to the gazebo. J was sitting there and seemed to be pondering things. Smiling more, he went up to the table and took a seat with a sigh. "Morning. Did you have breakfast? I could run inside and get you something if you wanted." He offered as he sipped on his coffee, pulling his feet up to rest on the edge of his chair. It was calling for rain today, and it looked like it, but sometimes it would pass them over. "I hope this rain passes us over. It looked like it was going to be a nice day." |

Karyu finally appeared and J smiled. He looked well rested. He came into the gazebo and took a seat. J would wait for him to finish his coffee before starting the lesson. The sky was dark, but he was right. Sometimes the rain did pass over. “Good morning, Karyu.” He said with a smile. “I’m alright. Immortals don’t need to eat, though we sometimes do for the pleasure of it.” He sighed, looking up at the sky. J didn’t like being indoors. He felt confined when he was, much like his time in hell. Karyu was sipping on his coffee and was as beautiful as ever. “I was wondering if I could talk to you about something.” He started, wondering how Karyu would react. “I know what we talked about last night was a lot to take in. I was wondering how you felt about a few self defense lessons. Nothing drastic, I assure you. Just something that might help you protect yourself. Just in case.” |

Karyu sipped on his coffee and frowned at the mention of self defense. He didn't like fighting, his mother had tried to enroll him in a martial arts class, but when they had a sparing match, the kid took a swing at him and he fell the the floor crying. "I... don't like fighting..." He said with a frown as he finished his coffee and wrapped his hands around his knees contently. "Is there a way to defend myself without hurting someone?" Karyu had a feeling that J knew about his distaste for fighting, after all, the elder had been looking after him and guarding him all his life. |

J knew very well about Karyu’s dislike of fighting and injuring anyone. It was all the angel part of him. Couldn’t he see that? He smiled and stood to go sit near him so he could comfort him. He didn’t want to see him look so sad. “I’m not talking about hurting anyone, even if that’s what they are trying to do to you. The self defense I want to teach you is merely to break their hold on you and disable them so you have a chance to get away.” The demon hesitantly put an arm around him, hoping this would calm his fears. Of course, J would always be there, but if someone were to grab him, Karyu needed to know how to free himself. “Would this be suitable? I’ll do something nice if you agree.” He smiled hoping the surprise would help. |

"That sounds better..." He said with a smile as he looked up to J, feeling comforted by the elder's arm around him. Karyu had to fight a flush as he pushed his cup away and let his feet settle on the ground of the gazebo. "I should get changed into more suitable clothes. I'll be right back." Karyu got up quickly and went inside, pulling on sweat pants and a tank top before coming back outside. "Alright, I'm ready~! Should we do any stretches or anything before we start?" He asked as he approached J once more. J seemed to know what he was doing, so he wasn't very afraid of him hurting him. It made him feel better about learning this stuff, and he really did need to know in case something did happen. |

J liked having his arm around Karyu. It oddly felt like the blond belonged there. But he slipped away and went to change. He waited patiently and Karyu appeared again, ready to work. “Sure. Let’s do some stretches.” He smiled and they stretched out, laughing a little together. “Okay, I’m going to show you how to break free if someone comes up and grabs you by the wrist…” So J started with his self defense lessons. They went for a little while and Karyu started to get into it, absorbing the lesson and what he needed to know to protect himself. J was impressed. He was able to break free from the holds and get halfway down the yard from J before he was able to pursue. “Alright. Let’s try this one. If someone comes at you from behind and grabs you like this…” He was behind Karyu and grabbed him, almost roughly, pinning his arms to his sides. “How do you think you get out of this hold?” |

Kamijo began his decent to earth, Taemin not far behind, as he promised dear Ren. His gilded wings extended several feet as he flew, clearing the dreary sky of rain clouds. Sun should follow him, he thought. Let light shine on this miserable place. He spotted the place he had seen in the visions from the Seeing Lake and he turned to land, signaling to Taemin to wait on a nearby building. It was agreed that Kamijo would land alone and the other angel would only come if needed. It would only be a meeting with his son, after all. Why would he need backup? As he descended to t he ground, he noticed a bit of a struggle. Karyu, his son, was being manhandled. And the person holding him was…was a demon. He could smell one anywhere. Still several feet from the ground, Kamijo made his presence known. Light at his back, reflecting of his gold tipped wings, he raised his arms. “Demon! Unhand him!” His voice echoed with the might of heaven and he whipped his hand back, as if backhanding the demon. Though he made no physical contact, J still flew several feet back from Karyu, landing headfirst into the wall of the shed, crashing in and disappearing into the rubble. Kamijo landed and braced himself for an attack, walking to protect his son. |

Karyu was about to break out of the hold when a sudden force flung J back. A man was standing in a poised position, ready to attack. Karyu gasped and dashed over to J, passing Kamijo to help the demon. "What the hell is wrong with you!? He wasn't hurting me!" He shouted to the angel standing there as he looked to J, reaching out to touch the demon. The elder's head looked hurt, and his the shed was pretty well destroyed. He helped J up and put a hand on his head, wanting the elder to hold his head straight and get to the gazebo. "You alright? Do you have a concussion? Should I get some ice for you or something?" He asked as he worried over the demon. |

J was enjoying his time teaching Karyu. Karyu seemed to be enjoying it, too. Suddenly, an angel appeared. Not just any angel. J didn’t have any time to react. He was flung back from Karyu and into the shed, nearly knocking him unconscious. He groaned as he tried to move, sitting up just as Karyu came over to comfort him. “I’m alright, Karyu.” He said, rubbing his head. He could see the angel glaring daggers at me and he was terrified the being had holy water on him. It would easily be the end for him, if he did. “Karyu…this is…awkward…” J unsteadily got to his feet. The angel looked so poised for attack but J held up his hands, as if in surrender. “Brightlord…” He said, not sure if he should bow. Rarely did a demon come face to face with the lord of the angels and live. “Karyu…this is your father…Kamijo…Brightlord of the angels.” |
