Kamijo glared and tried desperately not to feel anger or hatred. The earth was crawling with this sewage and he needed to destroy it. But this one wasn’t showing any signs of rage or desire to hurt his son. Sudden awareness filled him. It was the demon he saw before in the Seeing Lake. “I know you, demon.” He said, pointing a long finger at him. “You’re the one who saved my son from destruction.” His features softened and he looked from Karyu back to J. What was going on here, anyway? There was a connection between these two. Karyu’s face… there was something there. His son, so majestic. They shared many features and yet there was so much of his mother in him. “My son…” He said, taking a step forward and wishing to interact with him. He had a feeling attacking the demon may have angered him. “There’s so much I feel I should say but…” |

Karyu was confused, but when J told him who the angel was, he could only look at the elder and stare. He couldn't believe he was finally meething his father, and that his father was the Brightlord on top of everything. When Kamijo stepped forward, he couldn't help but smile, it was an overwhelming feeling of joy filling him. He rushed over to Kamijo and hugged the lord tight, smiling brightly. "Father... I can't believe it... I still had doubts that what J told me was true but... you're here. I know not for long, but... I can't believe I'm seeing you." He looked up at the elder, he had a feeling Kamijo knew all about his deeds, and he wanted to tell the other that he had given it all up, to fallow a better path. He was still a bit speechless, though. He had to force himself to release the elder and stepped back, smiling at the angel and his impressive wings. They looked so soft and he wanted to touch them. Karyu wondered if his wings would be that beautiful. |

J was shocked. He expected Karyu to lash out or something. He didn’t know but he had no idea he was actually going to hug the man. Did he have daddy issues? Maybe he was just hoping for another perspective on the whole angel/demon thing or perhaps he was just relieved this was all actually true. The demon got to his feet and slowly made his way over, not wishing to ruin the moment. They should be alone. He really felt like he was intruding. But he did nod to the angel. Yes, he was the one who saved Karyu. He would always protect the halfbreed, as per his mother’s dying request. He would answer any question the Brightlord had. As hard as it may be for J to speak to him. Edited by Onose Jun, May 27 2014, 09:02 PM.

Kamijo was a little taken back by the embrace. He wasn’t expecting that. But he softened and wrapped his arms around Karyu, smiling gently. This was his son and he was pleased to see him. His deeds could not be forgiven, though. Karyu had been leading a dark path and Kamijo could not help but wonder if the demon was to blame. “Karyu.” He said, pulling away from the embrace and looking into the halfbreed’s blue eyes. “I know what you have done with your life. I understand that you are just now becoming aware of your heritage but there is still that must be done. The time has come for me to intercede. This is why I have come to earth to see you. Understand that my presence here is not to be taken lightly.” Kamijo swallowed a lump in his throat. He had been dwelling on what he knew he must do for his son, how this punishment must fall in order for him to become good. He didn’t like dealing out punishments. This was especially difficult, considering it was his son and this was their first meeting. |

"That's what I wanted to tell you, I've given that up. It hurts me knowing what I do, and I want to do my best to learn how to be a proper angel, to spread goodness and help people." Karyu said with a smile, but when Kamijo frowned, he knew there was something going to happen. He stepped back, not trusting the situation one bit. "I want to learn, but I don't know what to do... How will I know what to do?" He was confused, what was Kamijo going to do? Would he tell him what to do? Train him or have someone else train him that knew what to do? Karyu moved over to J's side and took the other's hand, seeking comfort from the lingering uneasy feeling he had. "J-san is helping me, he's showing me how to defend myself and he's protecting me, too." |

Something was going on. J didn’t like what he was hearing. What did the Brightlord come here to do? J had told Karyu everything and was teaching him how to protect himself. What did the damn angel want? A monk? “Forgive me, sir, but Karyu is right. What you saw as you landed was not me hurting Karyu, but teaching him self defense and how to break out of holds so he could get away. I don’t know the ways of angels, but I know it’s innate in him. He wants to change. I plan on helping him.” Karyu was at his side and he felt stronger for it. He took Karyu’s hand and smiled at him. It was like they were partners in this. J was going to do his best for him. He had been all through Karyu’s life. |

“Self defense? So that was what that was.” He raised an eyebrow, watching as the two joined hands. A demon and his son? This was going to change fast. Of course, he couldn’t choose who Karyu wanted, but he could still change things and raise the bar. “My son. Today I bestow upon you two gifts.” He walked to them and reached out, touching the demon on the brow. J gasped, looking pained for a moment and then fell to the ground, his head in his hands. “The first gift is that of guidance. You need a teacher and someone to show you goodness and righteousness. Since this demon chose you and you have obviously chosen him, I have granted him the powers of goodness his heart so badly desires. He will now shed his demon ways and become the guardian you truly need.” He stepped in front of Karyu and took his face in both of his hands. With his thumbs, he closed Karyu’s eyes. He took a deep breath, hesitating for a moment before doing what had to be done. He filled Karyu with light and with that, took his sight. “Your second gift is that of sight. Not with your eyes but with your heart. Since you could not see the error of your ways, your feelings will be the sight you need to guide you to the light. Once you have truly, earnestly chosen to do that which is right and good, your sight will be returned.” He pressed a kiss to Karyu’s forehead and stepped back, his eyes glistening. He knew Karyu may hate him for what he had done, but it was needed if Karyu was to join him in heaven one day. And it was important to change J. He needed a protector so he would have a long life. “I love you, Karyu. Never forget that.” With that, he unfurled his wings and took off, leaving before he had to see Karyu cry or become angry with him. It was too much to bear to punish his son. He needed to return to heaven anyway. He had already spent too much time on earth. |

Karyu gasped and went to try and go to J's side, but Kamijo took his face in his hands. He gasped softly when Kamijo worked his magic. He was taking his sight... He panicked when the elder pulled away from him and he opened his eyes, everything was dark. He heard the flapping of wings and gave a shout, anger mixed with agony as he fell to his knees. "How could you!? I'm trying, and you do this!? It's not fair!" Karyu cried out as he sobbed softly, feeling very lost now and alone. He sniffled and hiccuped as he tried to feel around on the ground. He was looking for J, for the gazebo, anything. He was panicking now, he didn't know what was going on around him and he just felt so lost now. "J? J are you alright, where are you?" He called to the elder, crawling over the lawn aimlessly, trying to find his way around. His tear filled now white colored eyes were looking around frantically, trying to cope with the sudden change. |

J sat there, his head pounding. He felt like his life was flashing before his eyes. Both his mortal life and his immortal life. Everything changed so quickly. Every choice he ever made weighed and he could see the bad and the good and what he should have done. Suddenly, it was all gone and a warmth filled him. He didn’t feel cold anymore. He took a breath as if he had come out of water and he opened his eyes, aware of what was going on. Kamijo, that bastard, had blinded his son! “I’m here, brightness.” He said, getting up and going to Karyu’s side. He lifted Karyu’s face and saw that his beautiful blue eyes were now a pale white. He was still as stunning as ever, though. “It’s alright.” He brought Karyu to his feet and pulled him into his arms, knowing the toll this must be taking on him. He could hardly understand it himself. This remorse and guilt, did all angels feel like this all the time? Was he an angel now? No. It couldn’t be. He still felt the demon, deep down inside. But he wanted to do good. The conflict was just…gone. |

Karyu sniffled and wrapped his arms tight around J, burrying his face in the elder's chest as he cried softly. He couldn't understand why Kamijo would do this, he saw the error of his ways, he was going to fix the problem, he was going to work hard and do the right thing, but Kamijo... he didn't give him a chance. "I don't understand... why would he do this? It's not fair..." He hiccuped as he tried his best to calm down, but he felt so afraid. Karyu never liked the dark when he was a child, and sometimes it still bothered him, but now it was even worse. He felt alone and scared now. J holding him seemed to help sooth him, though. "Please don't leave me alone... I don't want to be left alone, I don't like the dark..." He said with a soft whimper as he hugged J tighter. |
