Maya made the perfect angel. Though he had a habit of staying on earth longer than his mission required. He would pick up habits of the humans. He would dress in their fashions, eat like them. He even had his own apartment filled with goods. Maya had a life on earth, as an angel. Spreading good and joy was most of his existence, but existing on its own was fun, too. He enjoyed his corner café. Every once in a while, he would come sit with a manga and enjoy a cup of coffee. The baristas noticed him and subtly switched him to decaf. Maya never noticed. Not like he needed caffeine to be bouncing off the walls. He had a pure energy about him that made others smile. He would generously buy anyone a snack at the café or even a late lunch, just for their company. It wouldn’t be odd to see Maya with a complete stranger. He always had that person leaving with a smile and a light heart. It was just his nature. Today was no different than any other. He went into his café and ordered his cup, looking around the room to see who he could impose on this time. There weren’t many people in here today. There was an elderly couple enjoying each other’s smiles and a younger kid with headphones on. Then there was…a demon. Maya gasped and turned back to the counter. A demon, here, of all places? Was…was he being followed? |

Aiji had been sitting in the back corner of the cafe, having been kicked out of another mission by Zero. He kept bullying him around and knocking him around, showing the other just how weak he was. He really was weak, but he wanted to get stronger and prove himself. Aiji had been trying to track angels to kill one, to prove to Zero that he wasn't just some weak demon. He sensed an angel waling in and could smell the sweet, pure scent. Looking up, he saw the blond attractive blond at the counter. He looked away and sipped on his coffee, going back to his manga he had been reading. No, not here. There were too many people here. Aiji didn't believe in killing innocent people, another thing Zero called him weak for. Thankfully the demon was well distracted, he knew Zero's stay on heart usually meant he would be at the strip club he favored, laying with the incubus that frustrated him and made him stay at that club for days on end. At least it was a distraction and got Zero off his back. He needed the distraction sometimes. Then again, when he would be pissed off at the Incubus, Zero would take his frustrations out on him. There were always two sides to every coin it seemed. |

Maya didn’t want to startle the other patrons. A demon was here in his café. How was he supposed to respond? He swallowed the lump in his throat and tried to will his heart to stop racing. He took a deep breath and only opened his eyes when the barista gently called his name and handed him his coffee. He thanked her politely and gave her a top, something he always did. Maya smiled, too. The angel didn’t want it to appear like anything was out of place. He turned and looked back at the demon, who was now minding his own business and reading. Maybe he was just doing that very thing? Minding his own business and enjoying the solace of the café. It was the very sort of patron Maya would impose himself upon, under normal circumstances. It was nearly expected. Not wanting to appear out of character, he walked over and sat in the chair across from the demon. He was very cute, Maya hated to admit. And he was reading manga. Maya loved manga. He cleared his throat and tried to start a conversation. “Hi.” He started, smiling gently. Hopefully, he wouldn’t attack. |

Aiji looked up at the angel as he came over and spoke. The voice was like music to his ears, making him relax and calm. He couldn't help but smile at the angel and placed the bookmark in his manga before giving the angel a soft smile. "Hello. Did you want to sit with me?" He asked as he gestured to the seat across from him. Aiji was actually kind of happy the angel didn't attack him. He was really not in the mood for a fight, he just wanted to relax and enjoy the day. He got enough grief from Zero that he just wanted a break. Picking up his tea, he sipped on it and sat up politely, giving the angel his attention. He was very cute and beautiful, all bundled up into one breath taking person. His head was a jumbled mess, but he knew he had to put up his walls fast. He was very reluctant to get close to anyone, it had ended badly for him when he was human, he didn't want to let it happen again. |

“I did~” He said. Maya beamed, relaxing into his seat. The demon was nice. Maybe it was an act, but he really seemed genuine. He was gorgeous, too. The angel was smiling and holding onto his coffee, trying not to feel nervous. He wasn’t usually nervous. He looked over, trying to catch the title of the manga the other was reading. “What are you reading?” He asked, trying to start up a conversation. He didn’t want the demon to get up and walk away. |

Aiji seemed to brighten up and smile as Maya joined him. He was rather surprised the angel wasn't turning tail and running for his life. Not that he really minded, he actually kind of wanted company. Things had been so complicated for him that he needed someone to talk to at least. "Oh, this? Um... some thing about titans attacking humans. It's really good." He said as he placed it on the table and sipped on his tea. The angel was curious, maybe too curious for his own good, but he kind of liked that. "I'm Aiji, by the way. What's your name?" He asked, wondering who this careless and overly friendly angel was. |

“Attack on Titan?!?” Maya perked up and reached for the manga to see what volume he was on. “I’ve been reading this one. It’s so sad, though. I don’t like seeing people in pain.” He pouted and set the book down, going back to his coffee. The demon seemed like the quiet type and Maya was a very hyper person. He would have to tone it down a little. He spoke his name and Maya beamed. “I’m Maya.” He said, almost shyly. “It’s good to meet you, Aiji-san.” He didn’t know why he was sitting in a café talking to a demon, but here he was. Maybe they just needed someone to be friendly to them. Maya was just the guy to go be friendly to someone. He wouldn’t change his nature. That was what made him an angel in the first place. |

"I don't really like it much either, but I like to see the underdog succeed and overcome great odds. It's inspiring." Aiji said as he watched the angel, raising an eyebrow at the other's hyper personality. It seemed a little overwhelming, but Maya seemed to control it and tone it down a bit. "It's great to meet you too, Maya-san. Today seems like a nice day, I'm just so glad I can relax and forget about things for a while." Aiji said as he sipped on his tea, letting Maya know his intentions weren't geared towards a fight. He just wanted to relax today. "So, Maya-san... what made you want to sit down and start talking to me? No one normally does that, but I don't mind." Aiji questioned, referring to the angel just conversing with him instead of attacking him like so many others have done. |

“That’s a very good point. I like seeing people succeed. Everyone should know that, no matter how small they feel they are, they can overcome anything that comes in their way.” He smiled, surprised the demon had that point of view. Were all demons this way? “I’m glad to have met you, too.” He beamed. “It’s a lovely day to meet someone new.” He got the underlying meaning that the demon was just here for some relaxation time. That was good to hear. Maya didn’t want a fight. He just wanted to make friends. He always talked to new people and liked to hear their stories. “Well, I come to this café a lot and I tend to sit with pretty much anyone.” He admitted. “I don’t like sitting alone and I like meeting people. I like hearing about who they are.” Maya didn’t like being alone, but he couldn’t very well start a relationship with a human. How could he possibly admit to one that he was an angel? They would never believe it. And, if they did, they would be scared off and run for the hills. |

"I've come here every now and then, but I normally just grab something for on the go. I don't ever get much time to relax... My boss is a pain in the ass, so I'm always in a hurry." Aiji sighed and relaxed as he sipped on his tea. It wasn't easy for him to talk to someone, he was always closed off after he learned the hard way about people. "I normally don't like meeting new people. Bad experience with it, so I stay to myself." Aiji said as he pulled his manga close and sat it in his lap. He was feeling a little self conscious about this situation, stressing that he was going to be found out by Zero. The powerful demon was no where to be seen, or sensed, so he was sure that he would be okay for a while. "You're a very cheerful person, though. I kind of feel comforted and a little happy to be around you. It must be your thing, huh?" He said, inadvertently nodding to Maya's powers. Aiji felt lighter around Maya, easier to talk to him and feel more relaxed around the grinning angel. |
