- Boston Marathon Terror Attack: FBI Seeks Suspects
- No Unexploded Devices At Crime Scene
The only two bombs at the Boston Marathon were those detonated at the finish line, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick said Tuesday at a press conference.
Several bags and backpacks had been deemed suspicious in the initial hours after the attack, but no additional bombs were found, the governor said.
Special Agent Gene Marquez of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said that authorities are following a "variety of leads," though no suspects have been named.
Authorities commended the efforts of first responders during the press conference.
"We grieve but we know our heroes," Mayor Thomas Menino said.
Investigators are soliciting photographs and videos to piece together the incident. Special Agent in Charge Richard DesLauriers cautioned the public that officials would continue to interview individuals and people should expect to see FBI agents conducting investigative activity.

- Carlos Arredondo, Peace Activist At Boston Marathon Who Lost Son In Iraq
- Appears To Pinch Shut Victim's Artery
Carlos Arredondo came to the Boston Marathon to honor his son who was killed in Iraq. But after the explosions, the mourning father channeled his grief into heroism when he tended to wounds that resembled the ones that claimed his boy’s life.
Arredondo sat perched in the bleachers on Monday, American flags in hand, near the finish line with his wife to greet the National Guard runners and a suicide support group, organizations that honor his two dead sons, ABC reports.
Lance Cpl. Alexander S. Arredondo died in Iraq in 2004 in a firefight in Najaf and his other son, Brian, who battled years of depression after his brother died, committed suicide in 2011.
But once the mourning father, turned peace activist, saw the bloody carnage, he immediately ripped away the snow fence and scaffolding that separated him from the struggling victims and started helping the critically injured, the Portland Press Herald reports.
"My first reaction was to run toward the people," he told ABC. "There was so much commotion and a lot of people running away. I was one of the first to help people and God protected me. It was horrific."
In one stunning photo that’s become an iconic image of the incredible heroism that emerged, Arredondo appears to be pinching closed a severed artery from the thigh of a victim who lost both of his legs, according to NBC. He also used his clothes and towels to help keep the victims from bleeding out.

- Martin Richard Dead: Boy, 8
- Dies In Explosion At Boston Marathon
Martin Richard was standing near the finish line to cheer on family friends running the Boston Marathon on Monday, when an explosion took his life.
He was 8 years old and in the third grade.
Neighbor Jane Sherman told WCVB that Martin was a typical little boy, who loved to ride his bike and play baseball.
Martin's mother, Denise, was hospitalized with "grievous injuries," The Times of London reported. She reportedly underwent surgery late Monday for an injury to her brain.
His 6-year-old sister, a first grader whose name was not made public, lost her leg in the blast, WHDH reported.
Martin's brother and father, Bill, were also watching the race, but were not hurt, according to The Associated Press.
The Richard family hails from the Ashmont section of Dorchester, Mass. Last night, locals gathered at Tavolo Restaurant to remember Martin and his family.
“They are beloved by this community. They contribute in many ways. That’s why you see this outpouring," City Councilor at Large Ayanna Pressley told The Boston Globe “It’s surreal, it’s tragic, it’s incomprehensible. Everyone here tonight is trying to comfort one another and be prayerful."
The explosions on Monday afternoon claimed the lives of at least two other people. More than 140 were also injured.

This is a sick, sick world. *shakes head* People killing other people... and for what gain? And the saddest part, the coward(s) can't even own up to their 'accomplishment'. What's the point in doing it then fucktard?!
