*Leader of Thorn could be a White Captain, mayor, whomever, as I just simply am not sure who is responsible. *

To Whom it May Concern:

As you know, the White Knights have been VERY busy persuing other tasks, and so the task of protecting Leefians has been extraordinarily difficult. I'd like to propose a solution to this dilemma that would both reduce crime in your city AND keep Leefians safe.

I propose you pass responsibility of the city over to the First Bank of Leefe. Through an arrangement with the GOLD Knights, we would recruit and train GOLD Knights to act as security and police forces in Thorn.

By recruiting these paying positions directly from Thorn, it is likely to attract people who would otherwise turn to crime to become GOLD Knights, and thus reduce the "pool" of criminals active in the city.

In addition to reducing crime, we could also begin implementing public services in Thorn, such as medical care by a properly trained cleric, a food kitchen for the hungry, and/or a Foster home for homeless/parentless children.

To pay for this endeavor, the First Bank of Leefe would simply enact a small tax on home and business owners in Thorn. Clearly you can see the benefits of privatising the task of security in Thorn, as it would also lead to a higher standard of living within the city.

Thank you for your time,

Raynah Jackson,
President of First Bank of Leefe
Off in the distant shadows of the approaching dusk, a scream could be heard echoing off of the hills. She looked down at her blood soaked hands, then to the orc cheiftan laying in a heap on the ground. Beginning to weap, first in sadness, she began to lick the blood from her fingers. Her weaping turned to laughter, her face grinning widely with her teeth exposed. Evil consumed her, and the fear she felt at slaying the orc turned to rage, and she began to hunt for her new lust...orc blood.

Raynah Jackson,

Because we already have free support from the King, I am sure the citizens would prefer not to be taxed for protection and services. The King does not charge taxes to the people of Thorn and we would like to keep it that way.

We have little crime in our neck of the woods. Little violence, too.

Thank you for your interest, but we are not interested in paying for any service that we already have or that we do not need.

Dear Mr. Rubis,

I made this offer to you first as Thorn is my home town, and so I feel a special obligation to supporting the town and its people. Being from Thorn, I am also fully aware of the casual, safe, community lifestyle in Thorn.

However, being that I no longer reside in Thorn, I am also more fully aware of the world. Thorn has been kept somewhat oblivious of the true level of danger faced by Leefians all across the island. Thorn was kept from baring the brunt of the fall of Fort Albot, due to the hard work of myself and the guilds of Leefe. Also, the bulk of the werewolf epidemic and orc/goblin wars was all focused near Lazareth thanks to some brave adventurers. However, these problems are getting ever closer to Thorn, and soon could become Thorn's direct problem, especially as Lazareth's economy is failing due to the strife they face. Soon, the hungry beggers and crooks born of Lazareth will be forced to head toward Thorn and Ells to stay alive, and Thorn must be ready.

Furthermore, just weeks ago I encountered an adult Blue Dragon just up the road from Thorn. Dragons have been a continually growing threat all across leefe, as well.

Additionally, great wealth can be acheived for Thorn by supporting other communities and establishing better relationships with them. I truely believe that an arrangement of the sort I am talking about would be in the best interest of Thorn and its representatives.

If you would be willing, I'd love to attend a town meeting and present my case to the individuals of Thorn, and speak more specific in terms of the "tax." You see, when the cost is payed by many, it cost the individual VERY little.

Please consider inviting to a town meeting where I can address individual concerns.

Thank you,

Ms. Jackson
