kk, I just beat this game. Took forever, but I did it. Ok, for those who don't know, Braid was a game recently released on Xbox Live Arcade. It created a little bit of an uproar due to its price. 1200 points, or roughly 15 dollars. But with that to the side, it was definately worth it. [Story: 10/10] This game has such a deep story, about the protagonist, Tim, searching for a princess... I can't say much without spoiling it, so to leave out spoilers, I CAN say that the game isn't finished until you play the first level. Seems easy, right? Nope, you start off on level 2. But once you do find level 1, you yourself might be in for a loop. :suicide2: [Gameplay: 10/10] You control time, fun, no? You die, so you rewind time so that you don't. Some more unique gameplay features include, time that progresses as you move to the right, and reverses as you go to the left. Rewinding time so that a shadow of yourself can follow your previous footsteps to help you out. And slowing down time so that you can make a bridge of clouds. To name a few of the awesome gameplay features this game has. [Music: 9/10] Very fitting music for all the levels, except there are only 7 - 10 tracks that only play depending on what kind of level you're in. Could have used more so each level had its own track. [Graphics: 9/10] Every thing else is very artsy except you character and enemies which are made of pixels, but the background makes up for it. [Overall: 9/10] This is an amazing arcade game which bent the rules of most platformers. From the music to the time controlling, and eventually to the final ending. You need to buy the full game to experiance all of the mind bending puzzles that this game is based upon. Here is a vid of the first level, World 2. Find the rip off of a certain series involving a Mustached plumber. Edited by Rwyoung4, Aug 20 2008, 08:28 PM.
