I'll try not to let my fanboyism get in the way of a fair review. I've been excited about this game since the first image leak in March, and now I finally have it. :D Sonic Unleashed for the Wii! Gameplay: OOOOOOoooOOOOsiaej As I'm guessing most of you know, there are two types of gameplay in Sonic Unleashed, playing as Sonic, and playing as the werehog. Playing as Sonic in this game will make a man smile. It's fantastic, it's fast, fun and action packed. The levels are well designed, beautiful, and just so damn fun. Then we have the Werehog which has probably caused a lot of people to avoid this game. Don't let the Werehog stop you from picking this game up, it's really not as bad as some critics have made it out to be. Though the first few levels are boring, and some levels are horribly irritating (Eggman Land... my god... ughagauonfjs) most of the time it's quite enjoyable, once you've leveled up and got some new attacks and combos, it's pretty fun. Beating the crap out of enemies is incredibly satisfying, (except those bees and wizards, Jesus they're annoying) and the platforming is a whole lot of fun. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was mine. The daytime levels with Sonic are still a lot more fun, and there are a lot more Werehog levels than Sonic levels, it's not that big a deal, but when you have to go to two werehog worlds in a row when you're expecting another Sonic level, you can get a little frustrated. Also the bosses are a lot of fun. C: In between levels there are these town segments, you get a 2D map, talk to some villagers, then unlock the next level. I actually found these to be a lot of fun, I enjoyed the somewhat humorous dialog, and just hearing what the townspeople had to say, you could become friends or enemies with them and if you say the right things you can get items from them. ;) I GIVE GAMEPLAY 9 AIGHTS OUT OF 10 AIGHTS. Sound: WOOHOO! The sound track is great! The music is god damn beautiful! IT'S FANTASTIC!! GOOD GOD MAN! Oh and the voice acting is pretty good too, major improvement over previous games. I GIVE SOUND 8 AIGHTS OUT OF 10 AIGHTS. If I were just rating the music it would get a 10, but though the voice acting is good it is far from perfect, and due to some lazy editing, occasionally two words will overlap, you'll hear a character saying the next word in his sentence while he's still saying the last one. Story and jazz: Here's the opening cutscenes A good simple story made interesting by the many long cutscenes, which are all pretty cool and as I said, have good voice acting. STORY GETS 8 AIGHTS OUT OF 10 AIGHTS REPLAY VALUE: OH ITS THERE ALRIGHT The day levels have many different paths, filled with mystery item boxes that can contain concept art, music, tips, and cutscenes that are all added to the 'Extras' screen that you can access in the over world map. There are also many optional unlockable missions you can get from these items, and sun and moon medals that you get when you finish a level. These missions are nothing special, (collect x number of rings, don't get hit, don't break things, time attack, etc.) but they give you something to do. The rare item gets you an extended or extra level. A GENEROUS 10 AIGHTS OUT OF 10 AIGHTS IS WHAT REPLAY VALUE GETS! You'll get tons of game time out of this game game game time game game yesasfmakl OVERALL! Well I guess overall I'd give this game 8.9 aights out of 10 aights. BUT IF I WERE RATING IT BY MADDOK'S ENJOYMENT RATING IT WOULD GET 10 AIGHTS OUT OF 10 AIGHTS. I fucking loved this game, it may be my favorite Sonic game ever, if not my favorite game ever. But hey I'm a fanboy. ]: The day stages are brilliant and I will play them over and over again, most of the night stages are pretty enjoyable, looking for items is a good time, and I love chatting with the townspeople, watching the cutscenes, and listening to music. :P it seems it was too hard to not let your fanboyism get in the way huh? *points @ all OOJoohjohs in the review* its great but thre are many paragraphs unindented so im kinda lost when i look at what part of review im reading D: i know different is better ;) but it would be better if its done cleaner like first the section (sound, gameplay, etc) and grade and then paragraphs explaining it. at first I went 'are this your grades?" (OOOOOOoooOOOOsiaej -- WOOHOO! --OH ITS THERE ALRIGHT! ) but after digging the number scores ouf of all the abc soup there i thought not xD but thats just me you know D: |

Replaced yammering with a video and removed that bit about the characters in the end. Bloody Mac won't indent... Also did a bit of cleaning up. Another edit, ADDED THE WORD 'AIGHT' MORE, THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING! Edited by Maddok, Dec 29 2008, 05:38 AM.

You didn't mention the Egg Dragoon once. I hate you. Um, Nudi, calm down. I've known Maddok for a good while, he knows I'm joking. Perhaps next time you should ask the review-writer if he considers it flaming before you jump to conclusions. Edited by MilesMizugiwa, Dec 29 2008, 07:02 PM.
