Been home alone all week, moms in Mexico and my dad lives 25 miles away. I've been going through my library of video games, I have all week, just going to review everything I've ever wanted to review. This thread will be made up of many short reviews that sum up what I think about the games, and whether I think they're worth your time and money or not. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RAYMAN 3 (GCN) Posted Image This is a solid platformer, incredibly fun. You explore many giant worlds as Rayman, the platforming and combat are both great, and for once the characters speak proper English. Some people think that giving a usually silent character a voice is a bad idea, but the dialog and acting in this game is great, cheeky, funny stuff. There are a lot of cool power ups, Shock Rockets, the LockJaw, and FunkyBoards to name a few, LockJaw makes you feel like you're playing a Spider-Man game, it's a lot of fun. The bosses are really great, the cutscenes and graphics are gorgeous, this is one of the greatest platformers I have ever played. My only complaint is the FunkyBoarding minigame between levels, you go through these drugged up 70's disco lands and ride these rocket board things on narrow pathways, it's fun, but if you're new to the game it's difficult. Probably my favorite platformer of all time, definitely worth the money. Starfox Adventures (GCN) Posted Image This is nothing like any other Starfox games. I mean between worlds there are these arwing levels, but most of the game plays like a Zelda title. Meaning it's a great game. This was one of Rare Ltd's last great games on a Nintendo console. You've gotta save dinosaur planet, you grab this frozen chicks staff, and beat the crap out of some evil lizard men. This is boss already! There are puzzles to solve, giant bosses to defeat, and vast beautiful lands to explore. It has some decent voice acting, and an alright story, and it's a ton of fun. There is this one part though where to advance in the game you have to play this stupid minigame where you have to rapidly tap the A button, it's almost impossible to do with just your hands, here's what I did to beat it for those of you who are stumped here: use the bottom end of a pen and rub it across the A button rapidly, your wrists tend to be faster than your fingers. If you like Zelda, you'll like this. If you're looking for a traditional Starfox game, I'll review Assault somewhere in this thread... Shadow the Hedgehog (GCN) DOESN'T DESERVE A PICTURE >: ( Yeah I'm a Sonic fanboy, but not the type to eat up every turd that comes out of Sega's ass. This game is just plain boring. The missions usually involve killing X number of enemies or finding X number of some object. It's boring. There are neutral missions where you just run to the end of the level like in a Sonic Adventure game, but they even messed that up. It's made for you to wander around killing the same enemy 80 times. So if you just wanna run you'll be pushing against the wall most of the time just holding up on the control stick. Do not buy this game. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) Posted Image This game is more or less perfect. If you don't like it there is something wrong with you, probably a brain tumor or something. Get it checked out. Buy this god damn game. Lengthy, fun platformer, plenty of missions to complete, all of them fun. Everything about this game is fun. Fun fun fun. Buy it, if you haven't done so already, man what is WRONG with you? No More Heroes (Wii) Posted Image This game has style, and it's a lot of fun. But it would be a lot more fun if it consisted of only the boss fights. A lot of the in between stuff can be boring, wandering around the lifeless city of Santa Destroy. The stages normally involve killing a ton of enemies who yell the same thing every time you kill them which gets annoying, though it is fun, the combat works very well. The bosses are still the best part, they're just plain incredible, too great for words. I would suggest you buy it, though it doesn't seem to be everyone's cup of tea. Maybe rent it first or watch some videos? Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World (Wii) Posted Image Plays a lot like the first one, rehashes some areas, still fun, and the battle system has improved quite a bit. It has a good story, shorter than most Tales games, that said it's still pretty long. Good characters too, more puzzles than the first, it's quite a lot of fun. I think it's worth it. NiGHTS Journey of Dreams (Wii) Posted Image This game is holy hell addictive. You just race around the level and fly around through hoops. No, not our valued member Hoops, little orange hoops, you fly through the center and get mondo points! There are some other missions that are a lot of fun, like defending the city from monsters. Bosses are pretty cool too. (Except the second one, pain in the ass.) A very charming Disney type inspirational story about kids believing in them selves. Try it out, it's great. Starfox Assault (GCN) Posted Image My favorite Starfox game in the series. Go on foot and shoot aliens up, hop in an arwing and shoot the flying ones down, get in a tank and run 'em over! The game is great. Just take my word for it and buy it, alright? The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons and also Oracle of Ages! (Gameboy Color!) Posted Image It's old now, much harder to find than these other games, but these are some of the most neglected Zelda games there are, which is a shame, because I also consider them the best in the series. These are two different games, grab a link cable and input a code that you get at the end of them to play one as a sequel to the other and get a final ending. If you can find it, buy it, don't miss out on these great games. Of course for GBC games there are always emulators. <_< >_> Time we delve into Xbox 360 territory, one that some of you have yet to explore. Devil May Cry 4 (360) Posted Image Instantly my favorite game, go out and get the collectors edition, it's super cheap. Shoot, stab, and grab with your giant crazy demon arm. Also there's some platforming, this game has it all, and a great story. Beautiful graphics. It's rare to find games this good. It's almost as perfect, if not more so, as Super Mario Galaxy. Go buy it, one great manly game. Tales of Vesperia (360) Posted Image One of the best RPGs out there, the best in the series, great story, great characters, great battle system, great music, great great great. Try it out, broski. You heard me, buy it! Sonic the Hedgehog (360) Posted Image You knew this would come. =_= This game has so many problems, but it's still a fun game! It doesn't meet a lot of today's standards, but if you can get around the horrid loading times and difficulties, and if you're up for a great challenge, enjoyed the Sonic Adventure games, I suggest you try this bad boy out. The story is pretty ridiculous, the graphics are pretty good, there's a lot of fun platforming and action. Play Sonic, Shadow, or Silver's story, it's all good, obviously Sonic's is the best though. As I said, if you can get around bad loading times, and occasionally unfair difficulty, enjoyed the Sonic Adventure games, and are up for a challenge, try it out. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Just gotta do one more man. This one is important, you best be ready biatch. MUTHA FUCKIN' MEGA MAN 64! YEEEESSS! (N64) (AKA MEGA MAN LEGENDS FOR PS1) Posted Image If you don't try to get your hands on this game, if you don't like this game, you suck. You god damn suck and I hate you. >: ( Unique (but easy) controls, great story and voice acting, this game is unlike any other. It is so damn fun. The final boss still gives me chills. You have to get this game. You stupid pussy. Get it. Now. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Well that's all folks, hope you read some of these, and I hope you'll try some of them out. Except Shadow the Hedgehog. Shut your mouth Miles (NOT THAT YOU'RE EVER ACTIVE). :argh: Oh... Posted Image Mario & Luigi RPG 3 (DS) It's like the best game ever and has boss replay mode. Edited by Maddok, Mar 3 2009, 06:32 AM.

All Star Fox games are connected >_>. But in particular since you're asking SFA and SFAssault specifically, Krystal joins Star Fox(Krystal was teh new character in SFAdventure) and in Star Fox Assault j00 return to Dinosaur Planet for a stage and you see Tricky all growed up-ish. |
