Well gang, it is that time of the year again. July’s are always such glorious months aren’t they? We have Christmas in July (which is today!), we have wonderful Steam sales which usually net many PC gamers fantastic deals, and usually at least one sweet summer blockbuster comes out (this month unfortunately, that’s not the case). However, I usually look forward to July’s for one reason and I do believe you all know what that reason is. On this day 5 years ago a mad scientist had the terrible idea to create a forum for a (at that time) new Wii title called Mario Strikers Charged. The creation of the board was huge success and has faced many a changes over these past five years. For example, a new name! But if you’re reading this, chances are you know this shit already, so let me get to the point. We’ve lost many members, quite a few of them veterans and important assets to our group, but we’ve fought on. We’ve persevered through many hardships, and while we’re not #1, we’re still here dammit! ‘Twas only a few days ago that I decided it’d be comical to take a venture at our affiliates section. We have amassed about 4 or so affiliates in our time, were they fruitful? Most likely not, but at least we attempted to expand and unite with fellow gamers. I decided looking at it wasn’t enough. I’d see how our fellow Wii gamers were doing. Were their boards thriving with posts? Were they even alive? Long story short, no. No they were not. Now, the rest of this is not mean to gloat in the slightest, far from it. It is to congratulate ALL of us on being such a great community. Every single one of our affiliate met with a fate that I fear we do not succumb to for quite a long time. Their boards were either deactivated entirely, hadn’t had any posts in YEARS, or best case scenario had only been months since the last post (though very few). We are by no means the most active Wii fan forum on the net, nor do we strive to be, but it was very pleasing to see that we could last five years continually without having to shut down, start over, rebranding (a second time), or any of that jazz. I am willing to bet that not a week goes by where we don’t get at least one post (during our lazier periods). And for that, I thank you guys very much. Obviously, I am not the creator, I was not one of the original admins, or constructors of this website, but my passion to keep this place thriving makes me very happy that I am in a position where I can do things to make us a strong community. I am also very happy that most, if not all of our active members have enough faith in me to continue coming back to this place without any hooplah or believe that I am not doing a good job. One thing that I like very much about the Legion of Wii though, is that the admins (whats left of us) and the moderators don’t feel like admins and mods. We’re just a part of the community, we’re no different than you guys. We just have some powers to help keep this place safe/clean/fun. I’m also thankful that we’re barely ever in the need of any moderation or admining aside from cosmetic changes to the forum or fixing typographical errors. Drama is a thing of the past and I hope it stays that way. Let us look to the future! I don’t want to get too excited, but I hope that this continues on for at least another five years! We’ll renegotiate our contract at that point. But gang! Let us continue being a community of friends who play games, chat, and watch films together. Thank you all for continuing to come back to this place, and I hope you keep doing so! And now, let us talk about today! Tonight at 8 PM eastern standard time come to the Legion of Wii Cinema stream for a mystery film! We will also utilize that time to play some games and just have a good ol’ fashion fun conversation gang! |

this really is a big milestone D: (lol me remix from club nub). I'll be honest and confident to say that you have been the backbone of LoW continuing to be what it is today. You are the one who brings all of these great ideas and executes them with such joy that i cant help but think what would this place be without you hms. I actually did that affiliates tour 2 weeks ago and it was mind-blowing (maybe not that much) how rapidly they had gone out. and im pretty sure one of them was pretty big in their 100 000 s posts. And sure we try to make a post here and there at least once a day, but its all you bro who makes this place lively again and we help along the way :3 I'll say it now i'll say it always and forever that I love this place and im proud to be with you guys all these 5 years and i hope to hms (real pun intended) that we go for a long long time. ive said it many times but i wont let this place die even if im the only one left in the year 2020+ ill even bring my kids and shit :ese: So thank you everyone for making this place an awesome place to be in and thank you hms for brooming here and there to make it what it is now XD. and about that power thing, its been so long that i dont use my MOD POWAZ because i havent need it to that ill use them right now! Im not telling how though ;D |

Imma just say this now. I WILL bring my kids here (adopted or otherwise <.<). I believe the forum can survive that long. I have faith in HMS that it can happen as well as every other member here. It's always weird looking back at these mile stones. 5 years ago I was some awkward 7th-8th grader just browsing gamefaqs. I didn't even have Mario Strikers Charged, but it seemed fun to join the forum. And it was. Now what am I? I'm going into college and I'm not QUITE as awkward. Hell, when I first joined 5 years ago I was a real stickler. I was scared of chatrooms and when I became a mod, I often modded Nova's or TD's attempts at posting sexual content on the forum. I guess what I'm getting at is, 5 years is a lot of time. Some of us were quite young'ns and now we're basically all growed up. Even Hoops, the essential child and little brother of the forum, is going to be a Junior or Senior this year. It's not very often that you get to see this kind of development up close and personal on the internet, but we accomplished. Our forums may be small, but I think we made some true friends. =P Thank you all. Now, I will leave this to end with: |

Wow, 5 years is a long time... I was 11 years old when I stumbled upon this site, not knowing what to expect (after all I was 11, the only site I had ever joined was GameFAQs and I basically just lurked). This may seem a bit sad, but I think I'll always remember the day I bought Strikers Charged, and how excited I was to play online with some new friends. Becoming a moderator at 11 is probably what made me stick to the site (I had never had such wonderful power before, I was in awe of myself, and of the fact that someone would allow an 11 year old to become a moderator). But most of all, I really am happy to have gotten to know you guys, and see you guys develop and shit (I mean my HMS, Nikki is gonna be wearing a bra soon! But I'm sure you guys have seen more change in me than I've seen in you). I wouldn't be coming here if I didn't love you guys. This may sound stupid, but I really do consider you guys my friends, and learning to banter with you guys in the chatroom and such helped me make even more real world friends. So thank you guys for a great five years, and I'm looking forward to the next 20 |

i remember you calling me uncle, my little critter of nature ^_^ we've all seen each other grow somewhat some more than others and i'd like believe we will always have each other in this virtual world we talk through hoops. oh gawd i feel like im talking like this but with tears flowing down one cheek. dumb anniversaries.
