Greetings Fancy hatted folk. Holris here. I spoke with Mr. B recently concerning an invitation to play at mine and Miss Wyllawen's up coming wedding. Well, we have set a date and would like to formally invite your music ensemble to provide the music for our ceremony and reception if you will be available. We are both fans of your group and would be honored if you could join us for this special occasion. Details are as follows: Date: Wednesday 13 August 2014 Time: Midnight server time Location: Small stage on the Scholar Stairs Thank you soo much for your consideration and I do hope you can be a part of our special day. Are you needing a ceremonial suite done? Processionals and such? |

Honestly, we haven't settled the details of it yet. We'll be working it out this week though and I'll get back with you. |

Sounds good. I went ahead and used the excuse to put together a few standards like Mendelssohn's Wedding March. |

Hello again Hatted ones, sorry I haven't been very free with info on our wedding but we've actually be still working things out. The wedding itself will start at midnight server time, so we would like maybe some pre-ceremony music. Then we were hoping someone wouldn't mind being like an emcee for us. We are going with a very casual sort of affair. No big ceremony, we will say a few words to our gathered friends then will exchange vows written by us, and then let the party begin. The Emcee would basically just have to get the crowd to settle down and get in place, introduce us as we step up and the band can play the wedding march or Highway to Hell, whichever might be more appropriate, and then just keep things flowing. We can work on a SOE where people will be positioned later. Music selection we leave to your capable hands, you guys never dissapoint and we would never feel it our place to try to create a set list for you. I'm really excited to have you all as a part of this with us, it's going to be great! Thanks Holris |

I'm sure Mr. B, Tromb, & Fin will be on it. I went ahead and did a transcription of Highway for fun. So it seems like a processional with bride and groom, vow exchange, and recessional? I like Highway as a processional and Wedding March as the recessional. I kinda want to flip them because I like the idea of going out on power rock, but in my head Wedding March just can never be used as a processional. It's too hardwired as the "wedding over" song. And Highway is more ironic as a processional anyways. I was thinking some really soft, mood setting music for the vow exchange? Like Ave Maria on a small ensemble. Ave Maria's runtime is 4:03. Though it might be best to keep that blank since timing the length of your vows with the music might be tricky and a ~ in the middle of a song, or standing around waiting for it to end are neither preferable outcomes. EDIT: Or "At The Beginning" from the Anastasia soundtrack, which pretty much should be mandatory at all weddings as it's the best sappy love song pretty much ever. (Side note: How does Don Bluth always end up with the best soundtracks?) However, no one remembers it because the song had the misfortune of debuting one week before Celine Dion roflstomped everything with "My Heart Will Go On" from the Titanic soundtrack.
