A victory for grievers; discussion

Well folks, it seems we took a huge hit last night at the Animal House show.
After numerous complaints about Tyrrel and his companion asshat alt blocking the view of the band and chat bubbles by sitting on their mounts in front of the band. Most of us received a reply from +Caergoth+ saying that Turbine doesn't consider that grieving and to not make another report about such activity.
I have decided that if this situation remains as such, then my days as a VIP are definitely limited as I will no longer support Turbine/Lotro by buying anymore points, or time as VIP and may decide to quit playing all together. I'm tired of this shit and I know many others are as well. We are being chased out of the public areas with such behavior from the grievers and it wont be long before they move on to our out of way places that some of the bands use in order to avoid them, unless I miss my guess about them and how asinine they are. I also have decided that I will not be hosting the Greenfields music event this upcoming year either if this is Turbines new policy. I simply have become tired of it and not willing to deal with it anymore. My thought now is to drive as hard as I can towards getting this information about how we are being treated and suggesting boycotting giving Turbine anymore money for being treated so poorly as paying customers. When F2play alts are allowed to grieve VIP members without fear of ban or warnings, I'm done.
I hope that the folks who have friends in the right places takes note and brings this situation to light in the forums, twitter, and other media which is common to Lotro players but for your and their sakes, follow the code of conduct as I would not want to see anyone being banned if you do chose to post about this. My thought is to address it in chat channels, kin chat, ect. in order to bring us together in a boycott of giving Lotro money until they figure out that a small handful of grievers isn't worth the loss of so many long time paying customers.
~hugs~

I'm firmly alongside you, Fincin.

I've had my own issues, but dealing with clowns like those two is completely contrary to why I play at all. I've cancelled my sub. For the little I do anymore, Preferred status is fine.

My biggest gripe (aside from the "policy" and GM rulings themselves, and the actions of griefers) is that I can't find any official way to lodge a complaint that anyone in authority at Turbine will see. There is no appeal, there is no case escalation to "higher ups". The tells I got from the GM scolding me for reporting those two (Not +Caergoth+, but I left the name in my LOTROpad... I'll have to log in to get it) were rude and semi-hostile.

I won't pay them anything more, and I will give a lot of thought about what it means that they seem to welcome this sort of thing. I guess they want a game with more 12-year-old brats than mature players who just want to enjoy their time in peace and without harassment. If that continues, I'll be hard pressed to log in at all anymore.

And yes, that behavior is CERTAINLY "harassment", by any definition other than the official Turbine one.

This is a pm I sent in regard to this griefing.
I sent it to Frelorn in the hopes of a reply on how to appeal the GM's decision and/or raise complaint at a higher level.

Dear Mr Frelorn sir,
Recently at a regularly scheduled performance of a band on Landroval, there was a matter of intentional griefing going on. It was done by someone who has done the same style of griefing many times in the past and reported by a multitude of people and we have usually had satisfactory assistance by the GM's.
It consisted of two characters, we presume one is an alt, and they purposely stood in front of the band on horseback in order to block view of the band and block chat bubbles for announcers and singers. This time however, we were told by the GM's that they no longer consider this griefing and to not make another report ever about such activities. My question now is, and on behalf of many of us in the music community on Landroval, what process is in place to allow us to voice our regret and/or appeal this harsh, and considered rude by many people, GM's responses. I can name 6-7 of us that thought the response to our complaint was inappropriate. To say anything in open chat was wrong in our opinion as it will only bolster the griefers. IE: +Krymux says, 'Okay people, someone just standing around is not harassment and not against the CoC. Please do not submit anymore tickets on this issue.
The point is, they were not just standing around, they were purposely blocking view of the band and chat for the halloween contest questions which many of us rely on. Its difficult to see when lyrics are being sang or questions for games are being asked when you cannot see the chat bubbles.
I thank you for your time and await a reply

PS: This is the anger of the many people this has caused for that which I was able to recover from those that chat logged it.
### Chat Capture: General 10/25 11:14 PM ###

I absolutely hate it! I tried reporting the 3 and the reports were closed almost instantly. He was at the Firebrands concert too screwing with them and their wonderful show. I pay for 2 VIP accounts for me and my gf and I have absolutely had it with the griefers. We need an additional tab for harassment by griefing. I'm at the point where I may cancel my VIP and go free as then I won't feel so bad if I shut the damn thing off because I'm annoyed. It's a terrible thing that they just ignore us but yet they still like our money. This will be the downfall of Lotro as people that pay aren't going to pay for abuse that we can get for free. The only real thing that keeps me in the game is the music and all the wonderful people that I interact with. I will be calling them today to express my displeasure although I feel it will do little good.

For those on Facebook, we have a new outlet to let our thoughts be known.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/712919325459247/712962195454960/?notif_t=group_activity

I posted this earlier...
After giving it much thought. Ive revisited my old suspicion from last year. The thought occurred to me last year after a rash of griefing from this same character that he is either related to someone high up at Turbine/Warner Bros. Or is friends with several GM's, or is / was a employee there. Nothing else explains why a character that is only logged on in order to grief the role play and music community, has never received a permanent ban. This same character has never leveled in two years, never plays except to harass the community and yet still remains and only is online to cause trouble for others. Its appalling that no one at turbine has done the math on this and it goes to show how inept the enforcement of the COC is by GM's and the utter lack of desire to keep paying customers in game. This is nothing more than my suspicion but I find it difficult to draw any other conclusions.

If anyone can figure out how we can make our displeasure known to the powers that be please speak up and come up with some ideas. There is strength in numbers and we need to band together somehow in a joint venture and let them know en masse that we are not happy and griefing needs to be more strictly defined and dealt with accordingly. Maybe we need to curtail events or at least make references to things like Weatherstock or Winterstock and how those things may disappear if the griefing doesn't stop. I haven't been part of the Landroval community for all that long nor have I been involved with Lotro that long to be able to come up with a decent plan of action to try to change this but I will stand with anyone that can. I hope someone can come up with something and let us all know how we can be a part of it.
