The whole griefer mentality is so alien to me... I just can't understand the motivation or behavior.

I guess it's worse in games that have open PvP... I have always thought of LOTRO's player base as more mature and friendly. I mean, one of the core values is about banding together, not doing things alone.

I hope it does some good but I fear we have been left out in the cold.

My sub is done. I think Turbine doesn't have the personnel anymore to properly service the game. A company that needs to right itself? I can hang on to that. A company that isn't investing the bare minimum into the product to make all the rules work? Nah, I'm done.

Yeah, aside from a great whistling silence, I've gotten one response, and that was mainly a "you realize this would get us sued" kind of thing.

The editor who said that then went on to tell me how many of his people feel that LOTRO is at the lowest point in the history of the game, and the layoffs have stripped the talent from the company.

only thing is they'll only support if you're using a stage.

Yup. That seems to be their "compromise" to prevent the pendulum swinging absurdly in the opposite direction. Like bands playing on AH NPCs and ticketing people "standing" on them as they use the AH. It's dumb, but I'm fairly certain that's the logic here.

Nope, just a poorly worded sentence. It's anywhere that isn't obvious, like someone mounting in front of a quest giver: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?558850-Official-Policy-Stance-on-our-Support-of-Player-Run-Events&p=7265743#post7265743

I think we've made great progress. It's a lot more than we had a week ago. I understand that people like to see things done "yesterday" but I really wish people would at least run with this for awhile. At least they seem to be listening now...
