The housing thing doesn't really bother me a great deal, I've had a house in lotro for years now and in all that time, I've had no rp there, and less than 5 visitors |

I'm sorry but I just can't get into this game. I have full plate mail on and a two handed weapon but because of the shitty combat system, I can't survive three freaking spiders. And the ridiculous agro range they have means that you can't pull just one of them. I would rather fight in Lotro then this pos of a combat system. |

lol, I told you spidder poison, even at lvl 30 I got my butt handed to me by those stupid spidders. Best to just avoid them, go to Ardoris and and head towards Soltown and fight in the East Perennial Trail area, no spidders there ![]() It would pay to post your thoughts about that on the forums too. Its why we are pre alpha testers, to say whats right and wrong. To get there, go out of Owls head towards kings road. Take a left at kings road to the next town which is on the coast and double click the boat, that will take you to Ardoris. Cross the bridge at Ardoris and continue following the road to the perennial trail. Its pretty much the half way point between Ardoris and Soltown. You won't find any spiders there to mess with you and I agree, the poison is way overpowered. Edited by Fincin Elodie, May 2 2015, 07:34 PM.

The combat system is a real love it or hate it thing. Not too many in the middle there and definitely not everyone's cup of tea. From what I've seen, it is one of the most hotly debated parts of the game. With pre-alpha development still ongoing, it's hard to know if it will change. I guess you have to stay tuned. Yep. Unlike LoTRO where you have hundreds of housing instances that are mostly empty, there will be a limited number of plots available ingame. BUT - anyone from LoTRO will be able to get housing because I broke down and purchased a Crossroads Player Owned Town that will be a part of the PaxLair community. Obviously if you don't like the combat system as it is in pre-alpha or the way housing is being handled then this is not the game for you and I wish you well in LoTRO! |

At pre-alpha stage of testing, there are balance issues. I just want emphasize that this is *pre-alpha* not a finished game. With that said, I recognize it is not going to please everyone :-) The game is NOT easy and it will never be easy. At least from everything I read. |

I posted some of my thoughts about the game in the forums and here is what someone said in response to my thoughts on the housing.
Really? Housing is only for the select few? That's freaking elitist! No thank you. I am hating this game more and more. |

Well Orly, at least you gave it a try. Before you rush to judgement, you might want to look into the housing in Ultima Online. I believe the same methodology employed in that game is employed in SoTA. BUT - as I have stated elsewhere a number of times, I made sure that any player from LoTRO that I know and care about would have access to housing. I BOUGHT a player town. If that now makes me elitist in your eyes, so be it. I look at it as my gift to you and others. You have spent a few hours in the game and if you already hate it more and more, nothing much else I can say about that. We all have different things we want out of a game. At least you didn't have to pay a single penny to test it out. You're welcome...lol |

I wouldn't call you a elitist but if you support a game that has a attitude towards it's players like this, you are enabling them. And as far as the cost, unfortunately, I didn't take advantage of your gift until after I had already bought the game so it still cost me $45. |
