SEGA has revealed Bayonetta: Climax Edition, the limited edition of PlatinumGames’ hair-raising action game. It comes with a replica pistol and it’s exclusive to Australia and New Zealand.

It features a very limited custom-built replica of the Scarborough Fair, Bayonetta’s beloved pistol which she has strapped to her hands and feet. The aptly-named Climax Edition also comes in premium slipcase packaging and features the Bayonetta game, as well as a 36-page hardcover art book and CD soundtrack featuring music from the video game.

Bayonetta releases on January 7 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

english demos went up yesterday - 500mb bigger than jpn demo so looks like there's extra stuff - downloading now will report back :)

EDIT: no extra stuff - dunno what they changed besides the english menus ...
Also talk of day 1 patches for the US version
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/sega-sorting-overwhelming-bayo-ps3-loads

dunno long loading times suck but at least there's something to do while it's loading + the demo has very short loading times so why don't they just add a HD install opt ... oh wai ...

Played the demo last night. The game is off the fucking chain.

Looks like an instant buy for me, if the game keeps it's promise to stay like Devil May Cry 5.

I've heard that Sony are sending people over to Platnium to ensure that that PS3 version is actually a fucktonne better than the Japanese version, in terms of performance. But then again, I heard that off IGN's Playstation Beyond (BEYOND!) Podcast, so take that for what you will.

Also, Edge mentions that there's a LOT of Sega fanservice throughout the game. So that may pique my interest in the game some.

PlayStation 3 Bayonetta players have been asking Sega to fix the game's load times. Sega will at last be responding.

The company announced today that it will be releasing an online update/patch for the PS3 version tomorrow (January 28). This update will cut the game's load times.

The update will take place automatically when you power up the game. Once the update is done, you'll find a new "Install" option on the main menu. You can select this to install game data to the hard disk and reduce load times.
Sega said that it is implementing this update in response to player requests.

great news - just picked it up last weekend and am loving it so far ... besides the loading ...
about half-way through so far got a few sweet moves and some groovy items ... combat system is fantastic and has a good story - soo japanese :)

patch is teh awesome - loading times is 5-10x faster and has turned an awesome game into a fucking awesome game!!!!

also seems to have improved the dynamic range in the colours and some sperger's seem to think they have also improved the rendering engine:

Colours are definately more dynamic in this comparison vid:

Just as identical to the 360 version now. Reminds me of Nintendo and how they didn't get the GBA right the first damn time.
