I'm sure there are a few of you out there that are playing this game, and I don't want to flood the 'What was the last game you played?' thread. Views, opinions, critisisms? Comparisons between platforms? Do you rate the new Aussie/NZ character? Completely unrelated comment?

I've only been able to play a few hours (damn real life responsibilities) and I like the continued depth of the ME universe. However, the first thing I noticed, to my dismay, was they have brought back the teeny, tiny text! When i'm trying to read stuff it makes me quite furious.

But overall, I'm happy so far. Any other views?

Game's fine. The first in a while I've turned the subtitles off on, as the delivery of the lines is generally pretty good. Two things:

Firstly, Australian accents do not compliment sci fi at all. It doesn't help that the girl from Chuck is phoning it in badly.

Secondly, goodbye inventory system. It may currently be a little simple for my tastes, but I'm happy for the new loadout system, as opposed to the trainwreck that was ME1's inventory.

Let's hope they fixed the Mako tank, cos that was easily the worst thing in the last game.

I don't have a problem with the accent - Miranda hasn't left my team the whole game, but that's mostly because of the the honeycomb lattice, skintight uniform, mmmmmmmm.

I downloaded Zaeed yesterday and he has by far the most distinctive face, I'm wondering why the same effort wasn't put into some of the other characters (i.e. that one that I'm trying to scissor with - Kelly I think). Plus I like his vocal cords.

There have been a lot of little things that have impressed me so far. When I visited the citadel there were a few sweet conversations to listen in on and some of the advertisements were hella funny (the Hamlet movie had me loling hard).

Who on the development team thought it would be a good idea to put a hamster in the game? I'm not worried about the person who originally thought, "Hey! You know what would be great in a sci-fi action game? A hamster!"
... I'm worried about the people who agreed with her. It has to have been a her. I'm sure the other suggestions were stripper pole and unisex showers.

Alt Focus: Other things Shepard should have in his/her loft

Edit: Thanks Darth. I still think its stupid though.

It's a reference to another game that Bioware did ages ago. And it's a fucking awesome reference too. GO FOR THE EYES BOO! GO FOR THE EYES ARGH!

EDIT. Oh, I should probably talk about the game some.

I'm digging it. The shooting is fun, looks phenomenal, and the characterization/dialogue is of the usual Bioware high quality, and some of the stuff that was linked to me is nothing short of fucking hilarious. Was initially pissed that a lot of the RPG aspect was toned down, but I've gotten over that.

I do agree with the thoughts regarding Miranda. The Aussie accent doesn't come across as natural in sci-fi, but maybe that's because we're more used to English/American accents in sci-fi than anything else.

Still really digging it.

I'd like to point out that stripper poles worked for Bayonetta...

Also, hands up who else bought the nude alien magazine?

I was about to, but I was still very much in Dragon Age mode, and thought that it might decrease relations with future female party members. So I didn't. Though I may go back and do it, since I've got the OCD of item collection.

Speaking of Bioware, shame that I can't create a barbarian in DA:O. Would've so named him Minsc.

I bought it in the hope that I would be able to read it :P. Now I'm left hoping that at some stage, someone will come up to my cabin and notice that I have porn and a hamster and want to combine those two things in a sexy way.

Hurry onward Lemmiwinks, or you will soon be dead...

It's a pity Richard Gere doesn't do a guest voice on ME2. Then you'd be set.

The 'Sex in a video game' card played by Bioware is strikingly familiar to the card of 'Stop and start gameplay' they used during the Baldur's Gate to KotOR days. Anybody noticing a pattern here?

If you're into that type of stuff in the first place I don't think you'd care if you were sticking gerbils or hamsters up your a-hole :ermm:

Anyway (it's sad it took so little time to get onto porn) has anyone noticed the little teaser they have put in for ME3? It comes up in the text during loading screens. Something like, "You can import your character and game into Mass Effect 3... if you survive."

Would it be better that they begin work on a sequel straight away or would people prefer DLC?
