As I am sure most of you have noticed, I haven't been on here much, well, to tell you the truth, I haven't had much to do with the gaming world at all, the past 3 - 4 months. I love gaming, everything to do with it, I immerse myself in, or should I say, I did, up until I found myself a serious girlfriend, roughly 4 months ago, and now, I don't really play my PS3 at all, or anything else for that matter, it has nothing to do with me getting bored or sick of games (or gaming) I just find myself concentrating more on her, than games. I have pre-ordered God of War III, I am hoping that'll reinvigorate my passion for video games. Anyway, my question I pose to you all is, do you know any solutions to this? Has anyone else found themselves in the same predicament?

Oh, and I know no-one actually noticed I wasn't on the forums much XD

I had, but you're of that age where girls stop being gross and start being clingy.

Trust me, lad, you'll get past it. She's probably a good girl, and good luck to you, but it will get to the stage where you will make time for the mistress in your life. The black, shiny mistress...

You seen the Bebe's Boobs ep of South Park? Remember that speech Stan's dad gave? Pretty much that.

He's, what, 16?

Boobs are the ultimate goal, regardless of whatever your head says =P Oh and that age, there are no serious girfriends....serious is when you stay at her house, but also still at your parents house because you dont want to pay Telstra $300 to get proper internet at her house....that sounds familiar ;P

You'll get over it and run back to the PS3 quicksmart :P

Dear Diary:
Today a girl looked at me and it made my boy parts feel weird. I want to buy her pretty things and smell her hair.
*suspicious fluid stain*

Oh, is that not what we are doing? My bad.

Seriously though, this is pretty much how my gaming life works: "I've got so much to do, I don't have time for this gaming stuff. I think I've grown out of games." and then there is a release I care about and I'm all "I've got so much to do, I don't have time for this real life stuff. I think I've evolved beyond the need for a physical body, I wish I could import myself into this game."

For me it's a cycle of self loathing and pure gaming joy, hopefully it's the same for you too :P

I know the feeling, and yes, i would say it's quite standard. There is nothing like a womans touch, and if anyone tells you it aint so, they are lying.

I went through the same sort of thing a few years back, although i made sure i had at least a few hours a week to spend on gaming. Hell, i even got her playing God of War ( the 1st one ) one night and she would not get off it until about 4am!! But truth is she always liked computer games, not as much as me, but it certainly helps when you find one that shares the interest.
Otherwise, do as i said, and DO NOT stop gaming, your console will be there for you when others will not. Oh, and well done on the girlfriend, nothing like boobs, i agree.

When I was awoken late one night about 3 years ago to find a brand new copy of Gears of War waiting for me to play I knew I had found my perfect life partner and I'm not talking about my 360.

It's all about balance. There are lots of things in life me and my wife do together. She's not that much of a gamer, but I am. However, I am not that much of cardmaker/scrapbooker, but she is.

We spend a lot of time together, but at least once a week, we spend a whole night apart playing games/scrapbooking photo's. We both understand that we are different in our likes and dislikes, but it does not upset our relationship at all.

We also both understand each others likes very well. I got a brand new import copy of Shadow of the Colossus for Christmas off her, while I got her a Cuttlebug machine (don't ask me but she loves it).

So my advice is to find out what her hobbies are and see if you can play games while she is doing them. In a relationship, sometimes the amount of time you spend apart is almost as important as the time you spend together...

People, I know it's not serious XD I do not believe in high school romance, I know it's going to end, and all, that's not the trouble, I am just trying to find a way to get in some gaming time! XD. Anyway, thanks for the comments. I do get in some gaming time, I guess I haven't picked up a game in some time, that's probably why I haven't been playing. Also, I am not saying this is some silly crush, where I am all like O_O OMGZZZ (why does Safari say this is spelled correctly?), I meant this is one of those girlfriends, you spent a lot of time with, at each other's house, etc.
